34. Kiran

Kiran I must have managed to doze off at some point in the early hours before dawn, at least for a few minutes. Still, as the sun broke over the horizon, I was already on my fifth cup of coffee. Actually, it may have been more than that, I'd lost count. I was jittery, my heart was beating too fast, and I was getting to the point that I swore I could hear colors. The adrenaline coursed through my veins, giving me a nervous energy that would keep me going for a few more hours at least. It wouldn't be pretty when I eventually crashed, I knew, but with any luck, I'd have my mate back by the time it happened and could finally relax.
