Usher grew concerned, abandoning what he was looking for. “Is everything okay?”
“Yes, or it will be, once you hear me out.” I tried to smile but it fell flat.
“Just give me a sec. I'll be right back.” He sprinted out of the pantry, much to my surprise, and walked back in a few minutes later. “Okay, I'm here. What'd you want to talk to me about?”
