“What was that?” Gemma's voice cut into my excitement.
Turning to face her, I couldn't keep the smile off my face. “I just got an amazing offer from this company…safe to say, I wasn't expecting it.”
Her smile faltered at that. “Cool. I've hooked up the sound system to my phone, ready to get your ass beat at another round of Jiggles?”
Now, it was my turn to get serious. “Sadly, I can't. According to Emma, a lot of work has piled on in the past couple of days, and with this new deal, I need to be on my A game.”
The corners of Gemma's lips turned down in a frown. “So, what does that mean? You're leaving?”
“I have to…” I started to say but when her eyes turned downcast, I rushed to add. “But I'll come over to check up on you and cheer you up.”
