Abused Love (AL Series)

Chapter 16

Trent

  I know my eyes are pitch black as I feel my wolf right at the front with me. My mate is laying in the dirt with her own blood pooled around her face down, almost fully naked. 

  I run over to her and see her back has been ripped open by what looks like a silver whip but it looks like it was also a little more than that. The bastard that did this to her must have mixed it with something but I don’t know of anything that could have caused this to a human. 

  I fall to my knees next to her and slowly turn her head and place it on my lap. I move her hair so that I can see her face. I notice right away that she has a few burn marks on her neck. I look her over now that I’m closer and see more burn marks. They are not new either which means she has been going through more abuse from someone the whole time she has known me! I feel my anger rise even more. 

  I am her mate! The one that is meant to help her! The one meant to protect her! The one to love her no matter what and yet I have failed her!

‘We failed her. I should have known something was wrong and I should have pushed you harder to go see her. This is both of our faults. Let’s make it up to her once we get her safely back to pack and in our room where nothing will ever hurt her again. But right now she needs medical care so we can move her.’ My wolf says to me just as sad and angry as I am but he is right, she does need medical help.

‘I need medical help in the basement right now!’ I yell through the mind link to everyone that here. 

‘Yes, Alpha. We are on our way now and will bring the team with us right away.’ I got back from the warrior team that was keeping the medical team safe. 

  I feel someone enter the basement and my head naps to the person knowing it is not the medical team as they are a good thirty seconds to a minute away still. 

“Hey man, it’s just me. Is this our Luna?” Mike asks me while looking at my almost naked mate. His eyes hold so much pain from seeing her this way. 

“Yea.” Was all I could get out before I felt my voice break from seeing her this way as I looked back down at her.

  The next thing I know the medical team is coming down the stairs and a blanket is placed over Inara. I look up to see my brother standing in front of her growling while looking at all the warriors that came down with the team, all the MEN that came down. I let a growl rip through me as I think about them seeing her half-naked and beaten this bad. They might have stopped looking at her and looked at the ceiling when my brother growled but when I did their eyes grew wide and they ran out from the basement in a blink of an eye.

“Alpha, we need to take a look at her.” One of the pack docs told me and she knelt down to remove the blanket. All the male doctors stayed back a bit and were not looking at her, smart men.

  I don’t get up but I do nod my head to the doctor so she knows it’s okay to look at Inara. As she slowly removed the blanket from Inara I decided to look around the room and my mind started to put where we were together. This is a house meant to torture wolves, not humans. I see a ton of whips and knives hanging on the wall, shelves full of bottles of goddess knows what, a metal table that is full of my mate’s blood, and straps on each of the legs of the table to keep someone’s hands and legs from moving. 

  I hear Inara hiss and look back down at her to see the doctor applying medicine to her back while the other doctors, I didn’t notice move, were wrapping her legs and arms. I look back at Inara’s face and notice how pale she is becoming, she is almost as white as paper and my heart feels like my soul is being ripped from my body ever so slowly.

“Alpha, we have done all we can do here. We need to get her moved and fast. She needs blood and I know once we get her fully checked she will need surgery.” I growl and everyone backs up but Mike. Brave asshole but he knows my growl was from anger as he has been looking around the room too and has seen what I have. 

“Let’s go, bro. She needs to get out of here. I will make sure that this gets taken care of, just get her to the pack hospital so she can meet me and the rest of the pack.” Mike says to me while looking at Inara laying on the ground.

  I look him in the eyes and he gives me a small nod. I look back at my mate and as carefully as I can be and with the help of the doctors we were able to get her rolled over and into my arms so I could bridal carry her to the pack hospital without messing her backside up even more than it is.

  Once she is in my arms and I am given the okay to go I start walking up the stairs still hearing fighting outside. I know I need to get her out of here but if a rogue comes at me I can’t drop her to protect her. I try to think of a way that I can get her out of here safely as I walk to the front door which is open and I can see wolves flying around. That’s when I hear something I didn’t think I would.

“Well, well, well, is this the soon to be Luna of the Red Rain pack?”

“Yes, Luke it is. I need to get her out of here safely.”

“Say no more. My men are at the door ready for you to come out. It took you long enough to come up.”

“Well that happens when you have to fight rogues on your friend’s land to get to your mate that has been kept in a rusted metal house for goddess knows how long while being tortured!” I growl back at him through my teeth while looking at him.

“We will talk about that later. Right now let’s get my mate to my pack hospital.” I say to Luke.  He just nods his head while looking like he is having a battle with himself as he looks at Inara who is resting in my arms with her head on my chest and her face covered by her hair.

  And with that, we take off with Luke next to me and some of his men around us taking on the rogues that come at us trying to stop us.
