I couldn't shake the memory of that night, the night I met him. The shareholder with the piercing gaze and the commanding presence. He had unsettled me, made me feel like I was drowning in a sea of uncertainty. But at the same time, he had drawn me in, like a moth to a flame. I couldn't explain it, this feeling that had taken hold of me. It was as if I had known him before, as if our paths had crossed in some distant past. But that was impossible. I would have remembered him, this man with the chiseled features and the eyes that seemed to see right through me.
I tried to push the thoughts aside to focus on the present. But they lingered, refusing to be ignored. And then, I saw him again, across the bar, his eyes fixed on me as I danced. I felt a shiver run down my spine, and I knew I had to get out of there to escape the intensity of his gaze. But it was too late. He had already seen me, and he was coming for me.
One of Kylie's assistants came to me as I was headed to the locker room . He told me that Kylie requested that I meet her in the backroom. Apparently, she wanted to go through some things with me . I found that oddly strange since I was used to meeting her in her office, and also, I figured maybe she wanted to talk about the incident with the shareholder.
I made my way to the backroom, my heart pounding in my chest. I called out for Kylie but she was not there . And then, I heard his voice, low and husky, sending shivers down my spine. I turned to face him, my mask hiding my expression. But he didn't need to see my face to know that I was nervous. He could smell it on me, this fear that was mixed with something else, something that I couldn't quite explain.
He moved closer to me, his scent washing over me, and I felt my knees weaken. He was so close, his breath dancing across my skin, and I felt like I was going to pass out. And then, he spoke, his voice low and confident. " Kylie is not here. I am the one who called for you, "his voice came out sounding way too serious. I cleared my throat. " What for sir? " . He took another step towards me . " Well, I want to get to know you a little more . Maybe see if we can go out on a date sometime. " . I couldn't believe the words that came out of his mouth. Until now, I thought maybe he hated me because I refused to give him a lap dance the other day. " A date ? Sir ? " .I asked, still in shock . " Yes, a date," he confirmed. " What kind of date ? You are my boss. " . " Yes, I am, but that doesn't stop us , does it ? " . I couldn't believe my ears, this confident man who stood before me, asking me out on a date. I had expected anger, or at the very least, disappointment. But instead, he was looking at me with a glint in his eye, a smile playing on his lips. I felt a shiver run down my spine as he spoke, his deep voice sending tremors through my body. I tried to look away, to break the eye contact that seemed to be holding me captive. But he wouldn't let me, his fingers lifting my chin, forcing me to look at him. And then, he said my name, Aria, and I felt like I was melting into a puddle of desire. I couldn't believe he knew my name, but of course, he did. He was a shareholder. He had access to all the information he wanted. I felt a blush rise to my cheeks as he removed my mask, his eyes roaming over my face like he was drinking in the sight of me. I looked down, trying to hide my embarrassment, but he just smiled and told me I was beautiful. I didn't know what to say or how to respond. So I just stood there, looking at him, my heart pounding in my chest. And then, he started talking, telling me about himself, about being a wolf, an Alpha of the Forestwood pack . He also mentioned that his name was Kel Monroe . I listened, entranced, my mind racing with thoughts and questions. But before I could ask any of them, he was standing up, telling me he had to go. We exchanged numbers, and he told me he would pick me up on Saturday at 8 pm. And just like that, he was gone, leaving me feeling dazed and confused.
