Chapter 15 – The Alpha War

480 Words
Rylan’s hands slid down my sides, steady and sure, as he leaned in to kiss the hollow of my throat. The heat between us surged, raw and unrelenting. He moved slowly, every touch and motion deliberate, as if memorizing me — every curve, every shiver, every breath. I wrapped my arms around his neck, holding him close, feeling the steady beat of his heart beneath my palms. Our bodies moved together in perfect rhythm, a dance as old as the wolves themselves, weaving trust and desire into every moment. The world beyond the room faded away, leaving only the fire between us. His voice was a low growl in my ear. “You’re mine, Ayla. Always.” I trembled beneath him, the tension building until it shattered in waves of overwhelming heat and release, my soul soaring as I cried out softly into his embrace. Rylan held me tightly as we came down from the rush, his lips brushing my hair. “Forever,” he whispered, sealing the promise between us. Darius made his move three nights later. His rogues hit the borders hard, forcing the Hollowridge wolves to split their forces. I wanted to fight. Rylan refused. “You’re the reason he’s here,” he said. “If he gets you, it’s over.” “I’m not hiding while they die for me!” I shouted. The argument ended with him slamming his hands against the wall, eyes blazing. “You’re mine. You don’t die for anyone.” But when I heard the fighting get closer, I ran into it anyway. The night air was thick with tension, the distant echoes of snarls and howls tearing through the darkness. The pack was fractured — some wolves guarding the borders, others preparing for the inevitable clash. Rylan’s jaw was tight, eyes burning with a mix of fury and helplessness. “You’re reckless,” he growled, his voice low but fierce. “I’m not your possession,” I snapped back, heart pounding. “I fight because I’m part of this pack — not because you say so.” Before he could respond, the ground trembled beneath us — a warning roar cutting through the night. The rogues were closer than we thought. Without waiting for orders, I sprinted toward the front lines, adrenaline fueling every step. The world exploded into chaos — snarling, teeth snapping, fur flying in a blur of motion. I locked eyes with Darius, his cruel grin fueling the fire burning inside me. “This ends tonight,” I vowed under my breath. Rylan appeared beside me, his presence a fierce shield in the storm. Together, we fought — two wolves bound by blood, curse, and an unbreakable bond. But even as the battle raged, a shadow loomed — darker and more dangerous than any rogue. The curse was stirring, and its fury threatened to consume us all.
