The heart of the sanctuary was bathed in the warm glow of a massive bonfire and small sparks spiraled up into the twilight like tiny stars. Tahla thought they seemed like a sign of hope. Around it, every member of the Lunaris had gathered with their faces expectant and curious. Tahla stood before them, the firelight danced in her dark eyes and she took a deep breath, allowing the scent of woodsmoke and pine to fill up her lungs. Then she raised her hand and the murmurs faded, leaving only the crackle of the flames before them all. “My friends,” Tahla began, her voice ringing clearly over the clearing, reaching every ear. “I have called you here tonight because our wait is over. We have received word from the Council of clans.” She paused, letting the significance of that statement settle
