Chapter Eleven

Callie I tried to be nice to this she wolf, I really did, but when she wants to ignore my handshake and put her hands om my mate? I roll my eyes and plaster a fake smile on my face.  "Well, since you were clearly not raised to respect people above you, let me give you a little lesson." I emphasize my words by taking a step closer to her until I am inches from her face. I will give the girl props, she didn't even flinch. Yet.  "I am the Queen to be of the werewolf kingdom, do you know what that means, little wolf?" She snarls at my petty nickname for her and I smirk, so she does have a little fire in her after all.  "I am going to guess by the silence, that the answer is no. Well, let me spell it out for you, it means that I am above you, it means that you will not speak to, look at, or even think about myself or my mate. Do. You. Understand?" Now, if this she wolf was smart, she would have just nodded and left, but, unfortunately for her, she is not smart.  She smirks at me and goes to put her hand on Mason's arm. Wrong move. Lightening quick, I reach out and grab her wrist, squeezing hard enough to hear bones crack. She yelps in pain and jerks his hand back, running out of the room, while flipping me the bird.  "Well," I say, turning to the royals, "That was interesting. Now, you cares to show me to my wing?" The King and Queen are speechless, and my adrenaline finally runs out.  "Oh my gosh, I am so sorry your majesties, I got caught up in my emotions and-"  The Queen holds her hand up, silencing me. Uh oh. "Dear, there is no need to apologize, as a matter of fact, I was sure you would find out about my son's...playboy ways eventually, all I ask is to not make a scene in front of our commoners, this is a very large kingdom, and there will be a lot of she wolves that want to antagonize you, but a true queen will know when to pick and choose her battles."  With that, she smiles at me and her and the King take their leave. I barely give Mason a glance before walking up to Chelsea and Alex.  "Do you guys know where my wing is?" Alex looks extremely uncomfortable and keeps looking back at Mason, but Chelsea, Goddess love her, has a huge smirk plastered on her face. "Follow me girlie!" I take her hand and follow her out of the foyer, not caring if Mason is following me or not.  Mason Well, that could have been a lot worse. Yeah, or it is the calm before the storm. I roll my eyes at my wolf. All of this could have been avoided if Megan would have just kept her damn mouth shut. Now, not only does my mate probably not trust me, but she knows about everything I didn't want her to know about.  After my mate decides to blatantly ignore me and have Alex take her to her room, I decide to go for a run to clear my head.  I run through the forest, dodging trees and jumping over boulders. I let my wolf take full control and he decides to go hunting. While he is in the driver seat, I decide to open my mind link to Callie and get a feel for what I am walking into. Her emotions are surprisingly calm, which catches me off guard.I mind link Leo, Let's head back. Might as well deal with this sooner rather than later.  Leo heads back to the palace and I take control, grabbing clothes that I left on the patio before shifting. I head straight to my wing of the castle and take a deep breath before opening the door.  I turn the knob and peek my head inside the entryway. Callie is nowhere in sight. I close the door and walk through our home, checking various rooms. Just when I am about to give up, I hear her in one of the guest bedrooms.  I knock on the door and hear a soft "come in." from the other side. I open the door and see she has set the whole room up for herself. All of her stuff is on the dressers, the vanity, and the closet.  "What is going on?" She looks up from a box she is unpacking and smiles.  "What do you mean?" Uh oh...looks like it was the calm before the storm.  I scoff at my wolf, Very helpful, Leo. I step fully into the room and sit on one of the chairs.  "Why are you in one of the guest rooms and not in the master bedroom?" She freezes and looks up at me slowly. I swear, if looks could kill, I would be a dead wolf right now.  "Why in the HELL would I be in there?" Goddess help me.  Callie Alex and Chelsea lead me to my wing of the palace and I already know that I am going to be getting lost in this place. We reach our destination and no one has said a word since we left the foyer.  "So...Do you want me to come in with you or..." I smile and pull her into a hug, taking a deep breath. "No, thanks, I have some things I need to do."  I turn to Alex and say, "Can you tell whoever has my things to have them brought into one of the guest rooms please?" He nods, looking uncomfortable.  Chelsea gives me a reassuring smile and they leave. I take a deep breath before opening the door to my new home for the first time. It is beautiful! There is a big entry way that has a small bench and a coat rack. I tour the wing and find a massive kitchen, with beautiful granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances.  The dining room is very classy with a 6 person table, with big open windows. There are four bedrooms, one looks like it could be used for a study, the other two are guest rooms with attached bathrooms, and the last one is the master bedroom.  It is very masculine, with a massive king sized, four poster bed that dominants the room with its dark red duvet. The curtains match the duvet and there are side tables on either side of the bed and a sofa at the end.  There is a walk in closet that I swear my whole house could fit in there, and it is filled with suits. The bathroom has a massive walk in shower, with a huge garden tub, that has plants hanging above it. Too bad I am not staying in here.  Mason "Well...because we are mates." She laughs out loud, and I clench my fist, trying to control my temper.  "What is so funny?" She takes out a few pictures from home and places them around the room, taking her time answering me. She stops when she puts the last one up and turns around, facing me with her hands on hips.  "So, were you just never going to tell me that you didn't save yourself for your mate?" I blink twice. I didn't think she would directly call me out like this.  "No, actually, I wasn't. I wanted to start new, and I figured if I left it in the past, it wouldn't affect our future together."  She blinks her eyes rapidly...Is she crying? "You know, from the time I was six, I knew I never wanted a mate. I didn't want someone else to have control over my life, or my feelings, and then I met you. I thought maybe, just maybe, having a mate wasn't going to be so bad, that I found someone who loved and respected me, but I didn't get that did I? No. Instead I got a manwhore, so please, do yourself a favor and get out of my face before I do something I may regret later."  By the time she is finished, she has tears running down her face and she is shaking with anger. I get up and leave the room, my heart clenching in my chest. I walk into the master bedroom and decide to take a long, hot shower. I strip quickly, and once the steam formed in the room, I step in the shower and lean up against the wall. I slide down the wall and sit on the tiled floor, pulling my knees to my chest. Never, ever, did I think that my mate would have this kind of affect on me. My heart feels like it is breaking and I know that I did this to my mate. I did this. How am I ever going to gain her trust?
