Chapter Fourteen

2095 Words
Mason Callie comes out of the bedroom looking ravishing. She is in a green dress that clings to her hips and pushes her full breasts up and puts them on display. My wolf growls in my head and I grab her by the waist, hoisting her up against me.  "No. Nope. Turn around and go change."  Seriously, if looks could kill, I would be dead. I back down, deciding to pick and choose my battles with this fiery mate of mine, but I still grumble about it the whole way to the foyer where the security team is waiting for instructions. Callie sees them and whirls around to glare at me.  "I agreed to security, not the whole army!"  I roll my eyes at her, "This is hardly an army, Princess. You will have three guards to yourself. This is Cody, Marcus, and Matt. They will be with you the whole time, no matter what, and there are three for Chelsea as well. You guys will take the private jet to the mainlands and do your shopping then come straight back, deal?"  They both nod at me, and I let the guards escort them, knowing that I will have constant communication with them, and now that Callie and I are fully bonded, I will be able to mind link her. As soon as she leaves with her guards, I head off in search of my mother so we can go over everything for Callie's acceptance ceremony, where she will be presented to the kingdom.  I find my mother in the casual living room, sitting on one of the couches. She looks completely relaxed in her jeans and flowered top. I always thought it was funny that the commoners thought we always wore formal clothes.  "So, how was the princess last night? Did she even speak to you?" I know my parents have hated the way I have lived my life, but that is all changing.  "She did actually, well first she screams at me and i got scared so I hid in my room, then she calmed down and we talked." She raises her eyebrows at me.  "And...She didn't know who May was so she kind of attacked her this morning thinking she was a she wolf looking for me."  My mother shakes her head sadly and says,"Had you been a faithful wolf like you were supposed to, we wouldn't be dealing with this right now, you know that right?"  I nod and look to the ground, shamefully. "I know mom but I had this dream last night..." She looks at me unexpectedly.  "Go on." I take a deep breath and hope I don't sound too crazy.  "Well, I was in a meadow and I saw the Moon Goddess." She gasps, visions or dreams from the Moon Goddess are very special and rare.  "What did she say to you?" I lean back in the chair and sigh, running a hand through my hair.  "She showed me a vision mom, it was so real, I couldn't breathe. We were being attacked on all sides, and Callie... She didn't make it mom. The Moon Goddess told me if I don't change, that will be my future. I can't lose her mom. I won't survive it." She puts her hand on mine, calming me down.   Callie. Are you there? Everything going okay? She responds immediately. Aww, missed me already? And yes, the jet is about to land.  I smile and look at my mom.  "I am going to spend every day for the rest of my life proving my love to her." My mom gives me a teary smile and pulls me into a hug.  "I love you, Mason. I am so glad that finding your mate has changed your heart. Now, let's make sure she has an amazing day for tomorrow, shall we?"  Callie I think it is a little outrageous, the amount of guards that I have, but I know that it is what he wants, so I agree so I can spend the day with my best friend. I decide to get to know my guards and I find out, they are not much older than I am. Marcus is by far my favorite, he is a goofball and has a great sense of humor. Chelsea and I get settled in our seats and she turns to me.  "So...Is the future queen of the werewolves fully mated or what?"  I slap her arm and laugh, "Chelsea! You nosey little wolf! But if you must know...Yes, but there was drama first girl. Believe me." She leans forward in her chair, munching on beef jerky, we both are always eating, I swear.  "Well, first I flipped on him for the whole w***e in the foyer incident, but then I got a message from the Moon Goddess."  Her eyes go wide and she pulls me close, whispering, "Are you kidding me? Does Mason know??"  I shake my head at her. Messages from the Moon Goddess are sacred and special, but Chelsea is someone I trust with my life.  "Well, she told me that it is my destiny to be the queen and to change Mason for the better. She made it sound like if I didn't change him, there would be an over throw of the throne or something." Chelsea looks at me, shocked. I would be too if I were her, hell, I am still shocked about it myself.  I get a mind link from Mason, asking if everything is okay, Aww, missed me already?  And yes, everything is okay, the jet is about to land. We land and of course, two of our guards step out before us, one behind. I roll my eyes at the audacity, but I am the future Queen, I guess. We shop and shop and shop. I find multiple furniture places that have everything I need. I find a bed that is a mahogany finish, and find bedroom furniture to match.  The guards are all good sports until we get to the lingerie store. Then the red faces and awkward feet shuffling start. I turn to the men and roll my eyes.  "Are you guys serious right now? It is a lingerie store for Goddess sake! Let's go, because if I do not get what I need in here, you will be dealing with the Prince's wrath as well. Now, who is taking me in there?"  Finally, Marcus grumbles, "Fine. I'll go."  I smile at him and Chelsea and I go do our shopping. I pick out a few pieces, hoping Mason will like them. We are about to leave when we pass a baby store. There is something that is pulling me there so I pull Chelsea inside.  "There something you need to tell me?" I look at her and shake my head. "I don't know, there is just something pulling me here."   Mason My mom and I have been planning tomorrow for the past few hours, and I am so ready to be done, but everything looks like it will be perfect for my future Queen. By the time I am finished, it is nearly dark.  I haven't heard from Callie in a while and I start getting nervous.  Callie...Are you guys almost here?  I have headed back to our wing, exhausted from the planning all day. I will never underestimate everything my mom has to deal with every day. I didn't just have to pick out a few table cloths, and the cake flavor. Oh no, there were the calls to be made to the other packs, I pick out the menu, the decorations, my mom literally made me do everything, she said it will be more special that way.  I still haven't heard back from her, but when I open the door to our wing, I can smell her. Oh, so little mate wants to play hide and seek?  I close the door quietly and begin creeping through the house, checking every room. I am about to give up and I try the room that is next to the room that Callie originally stayed in. I quietly open the door and am greeted with a sight I didn't think I would ever get to see. Callie is sitting in a rocking chair, singing to herself softly.  "Callie?" She looks up at me and smiles.  "Do you like it?" I walk over to her and drop to my knees, laying my head in her lap.  "Do you need to tell me something?" She smiles at me and sighs, running her fingers through my hair.  "Well, you know that werewolf pregnancies are different than people, and the process is more advanced so I figured better safe than sorry."  I chuckle and say, "You are right, and with royal bloodlines, there is a higher chance for twins. Or even triplets!" She stills and I lift my head up to look at her. Her face is white and I jump up, grabbing her hands in mine.  "Are you okay? Callie? What's wrong?" She smiles and tears begin running down her face.  "My wolf just told me I have pups in my belly. She can feel them already." A huge smile spreads across my face and I pick her up and swing her around.  Callie I have discovered that being a royal has a lot of perks. Everything was already delivered to the palace before I got back and most of it was all set up. I take a quick shower and change into some sweats and a tank top, throwing my unruly hair up in a messy bun.  I rummage through the fridge and end up settling with a couple sandwiches. All the shopping today made me super hungry, and tired. I walk down the hall, munching on my food and stop in front of the room that is going to change our lives.  I have had an inkling that I am already pregnant. Wolves pregnancies are a lot more advanced that humans. And since I have strong warrior bloodlines mixing with the royal bloodlines, I know we will have strong pups. Amara has been silent and I give her some space, I know a lot of this is probably taking a toll on her.  I open the door to the nursery and sit in the rocking chair, letting my mind wander. I miss my family so much, but right now, I especially want my mother. She is always with you, even if she is far away. I smile at Amara's voice in my head.  Are you okay Mar? You sound a little tired maybe?  She gives me a wolfy grin and says, In all due time.  I continue sitting in the nursery and begin singing the song my mother always sung to me, 'You are my sunshine'. I hear Mason come in and I wait for him to find me. He stops just inside the door and his eyes are wide. Oh, no. I freaked him out.  "Do you need to tell me something?" I let out the breath I was holding and smile at him.  "Well, you know that werewolf pregnancies are different than people, and the process is more advanced so I figured better safe than sorry." He chuckles and my heart jumps in my chest, and there are butterflies going crazy in my belly. I run my fingers through his silky hair and sigh contently.  He looks up at me and says, "You are right, and with royal bloodlines, there is a higher chance for twins, or even triplets!" Amara speaks up in my head, He is right you know, congrats Caliie, we are going to be mothers. You are having twins. So that's why she is feeling so tired here lately. The pregnancy doesn't just have an effect on me, it also affects my wolf, making it to where I am unable to shift until after the pregnancy.  I smile and tears begin running down my face. I put my hands on Mason's face and say, "My wolf just told me I have pups in my belly, she can feel them already." He gives me a huge grin and picks me up, twirling me around the room. I laugh and he puts me down, dropping to his knees.  He puts his hands on either side of my belly and whispers softly, "I will spend my life protecting you little ones and your mama. I love you so much already." Then he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a little black box. Oh my Goddess.
