Chapter 43 the Christmas company party

SUMMERS POV

The last few days have flew by ever so quickly, I barely realised the time passed, I can't believe it's already Friday.

Yesterday Karen rang me and talked me into staying with them tonight since Sean has the work Christmas annual party to attend to tonight. Although I knew I'd be fine I decided it would also be good to spend some time with Ryan, luke and Lisa. Sean was thrilled when I told him the plan but swears he is barely making an appearance at the party before going to his parents to see us.

I spent the morning getting ready making sure I had everything Skylar would need is like packing for moving house! Such a tiny person yet she requires so much stuff, I'm half debating changing my car to a mini during these next few early years. I couldn't help chuckling at that thought while packing the car up.

It wasn't long before I was pulling up to Karen's and Tom's house with Skylar fast asleep in the car seat. Before I even open the car door to get out Ryan was already running out the house.

My Queen about time you arrived he shouts running towards the car.

Ha,ha did you miss me My King? I smile getting out the car.

Of course and our baby girl he says smiling back.

Okay well how about helping me with the bags while I get Skylar indoors I say.

No need hand me over my granddaughter Karen says coming out the house.

Hi, and Skylar is in her car seat if you want to take her on in I can then help Ryan with our bags I swear it's like packing for moving house with a baby I say.

Well I remember all to well baby's certainly need alot Karen says chuckling.

I'm sure learning that fast that's sure. I grabbing the mosebasket and nappy changing bag from the back seat.

Oh come on how can a little person require so much Ryan says.

Oh, they require alot it's shocking how much you have to pack just for a simple trip to the supermarket I say.

Aww Skylar has grown since I last saw her Karen coo's over Skylar while taking her out the car seat.

Yes but she is still so tiny still mum Ryan says walking past with the suitcase he got out the boot of the car.

How's Lisa? I decided to ask before we entered the house.

Ryan and Karen share a look before Karen says well she mainly hides in the bedroom still, I'm hoping having you and Skylar here will bring her out of her room for abit she says with sadness in her voice.

SEAN'S POV

Sir you told me to remind you when it was 5pm so you could get ready for the Christmas party Josh says coming in.

I still had a few hours but my hair needed cutting I had a hair cut booked in for half hour. I quickly finished signing off the paperwork in front of me before I headed out to get ready.

2 hours later me Leo, logan and Dillian were at my apartment all ready in black tux suits looking daper. Dillian opted for a boe tie, Leo opted for a grey tie while logan and I opted for no ties or boe ties. Logan had his shirt open collared while I opted to have my white shirt fully buttoned up.

Cheers we all said clinking our Stella beers against each other.

Man it feels like ages ago since we all had a beer together I didn't expect it to be as your plus ones to your own company Christmas party Dillian says

Logan and Leo couldn't help but snicker at that.

I rolled my eyes. Well I'm a family man you know git a new born daughter who is way more entertaining than you drunk fools antics.

I woke up to a my bedroom door opening, I opened my eyes to see Summer coming in with Skylar.

Hey I grumble sitting up before yawning.

Please don't tell me sleeping beauty is still tired? I wonder who sleeps more you or Skylar Summer asks.

Probably Skylar since she is a baby I say holding my hands out to cuddle Skylar.

Cute outside I say seeing a snowman baby grow on Skylar.

Thanks I decided I needed new clothes and brought them last week I wasn't sure about the red jeans but they actually suit me don't you think Summer says.

I was talking about Skylar I say laughing.

Hmm but you meant the both of us really she says smiling at me.

Since when did you need to be told you look cute? You usually have loads of confidence about yourself.

Well that's was until I had a baby you know I don't look bad but still not as great as I use to, however Skylar was worth it Summer says smiling.

Hmm, well since we are talking about self doubt you shouldn't be doubting yourself either your a strong young lady and Skylar needs to see her aunty more so you need to stop hiding away, everyone misses you Summer says.

Okay you have half a hour until Skylar is due her feed in sure you won't want to see her upset bring her down for her feed when she wakes up Summer says standing up.

What the hell just happened I think to myself. That's all I could think about until 10 minutes later not half hour like Summer said Skylar woke up crying.

Fine let's go get you a milk bottle I can't let your starve can I. Im not sure why I'm talking to Skylar I'm sure she doesn't understand a word I say and doesn't care she only wants a bottle! How I wish my life was that simple. I walk downstairs and see Summer walking out the kitchen with a bottle in her hand.

How else was I going to get you out your room? Now come on aunty dutys are not over yet in the front room you can feed Skylar she says.

Fine! But only because I enjoy seeing Skylar I use to enjoy seeing you until your little trickery I say with half a smile walking into the front room.

Want me to take Skylar my mum asks.

No! Lisa is about to feed Skylar Summer declares behind me.

SEAN'S POV

As we walked into the club I had hired out for the whole evening for my employees Only I could help but admire how well it had been decorated. If there was one thing I knew is that the staff hated ballroom type party's they loved to really live it up with loud music and drinking! Staff were already drinking, dancing or admiring the Christmas hampers they received upon arrival.

This is amazing sir thankyou a blonde women said I wasn't sure who she was what department she worked in since I couldn't know everyone's names. But I was knew how to address this situation like I did many of times in the past and like I would again in the future.

No thankyou for all your hard work! It hasn't gone unnoticed, I hope you enjoy your evening and have a lively Christmas also I say with a polite smile before walking off.

SUMMERS POV

I carry Skylar downstairs with me half asleep to get a bottle I forgot to take up with me when we went to bed.

As I get to the bottom I see Tom sat at the kitchen table with a drink. Hey he says clocking me and Skylar in the hallway.

Why are you awake it's 2:40am? I ask curious

I decided to wait up until Sean got back incase you needed any help, I see Skylar is wanting a feed it's crazy to think she was only having a feed just before midnight he says.

Yes, I forgot to take a bottle up I say going over to the kitchen side to grab the bottle and formula.

Here let me take Skylar while you sort that Tom says

Thanks Tom i say turning around to hand Skylar over.

I'm sorry Sean isn't here to help I swear I will kick his ass to the birth Pole and back by time I'm done having words Tom says.

It's fine, I was prepared to be a single mother before I came back, but Sean decided to be persistent in staying to help with night feeds I didn't force him.

I don't care that's what he should do be supportive no matter what espicaly after everything he put you through Tom says.

Well I can't argue with that, however maybe I should of came back sooner and given Sean more time to prepare for fatherhood, but considering he has very little time to prepare I can't deny he is a good dad to Skylar one night not here won't hurt I say finishing preparing the bottle.

Your to nice Summer I can't help but be disappointed in how Sean treated you, but I can see he is trying hard also but it's also not gone unnoticed how fair you are towards Sean in allowing him as much time as possible to spend with Skylar I'm sure it must be hard at time when you must still hate Sean for what he did but you sure as hell ar one strong omen to put it aside got Skylar sake and for that I'm greatful it just makes me want to make sure Sean doesn't screw anything else up Tom says.

I also want to thank you for managing to get Lisa out of her room the whole evening, you even manage to make her laugh it seems like a life time ago since I heard her laugh he says.

As I switch the kettle on we hear the front door open while Sean shouts "wifety I'm home how's my princesses doing?"

What's going on Lisa says walking down the stairs.
