Alice and Jack decided to take a weekend road trip to the countryside. They rented a cabin in the mountains, and spent the weekend exploring the forests and hills around them. One night, they sat by the campfire, looking up at the stars. Alice: "I feel like we're the only two people in the world right now." Jack: "I know what you mean. It's like we're in our own little world." Alice: "It's been amazing spending time with you, Jack. I feel like we're meant to be together." Jack: "I feel the same way, Alice. But there's something I need to tell you." Alice: "What is it?" Jack hesitated for a moment before he spoke. Jack: "I haven't always been the person that you see now. I used to be involved in some illegal activities. I was a drug dealer." Alice was stunned. She had never imagined that Jack could be involved in anything like that. Alice: "I don't know what to say, Jack. I didn't think you were that kind of person." Jack: "I know. It's not something I'm proud of. But I want to be honest with you. That's all in the past now. I'm a different person now." Alice: "I believe you, Jack. But why didn't you tell me earlier?" Jack: "I was afraid that you would judge me. I didn't want to lose you." Alice: "You won't lose me, Jack. I'm here for you." After their weekend trip, Alice and Jack returned to their normal routines. Alice found herself thinking about Jack's past, and how much he had changed. She admired him for his honesty, but she also couldn't shake the feeling that there was something he wasn't telling her. One day, Alice decided to do some research on Jack. She found out that he had been arrested for drug possession several years ago, and had spent time in prison. She was shocked, but also felt a sense of relief that Jack had been honest with her. Alice decided to confront Jack about what she had found. Alice: "Jack, I know about your past. I found out that you were arrested for drug possession." Jack: "I was hoping that you wouldn't find out. I wanted to tell you in my own way." Alice: "I'm not judging you, Jack. I just wish you had told me sooner." Jack: "I'm sorry, Alice. I didn't want to lose you. I was afraid that my past would scare you away." Alice: "I'm not going anywhere, Jack. But I need you to be honest with me from now on." Jack: "I promise that I will be." Alice and Jack's relationship continued to grow stronger. They spent more time together, and Alice began to see a side of Jack that she had never seen before. He was kind, caring, and compassionate. She knew that she was falling in love with him. One day, Jack surprised Alice by taking her to a fancy restaurant. As they were eating, he got down on one knee and pulled out a small box. Jack: "Alice, I love you more than anything in this world. I know that I'm not perfect, but I want to spend the rest of my life making you happy. Will you marry me?" Alice was overwhelmed with emotion. She knew that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Jack. Alice: "Yes, Jack! I will marry you." The restaurant erupted into applause, and Alice and Jack shared a kiss.
