Sarah nuzzled into my arm sleepily. We had fallen asleep after our escapades and were both barely awake and as her warm body rubbed against me, it was all I could do to fight falling asleep again.
"Not to ruin the mood, but there's some stuff we need to talk about."
"Jeff, right?"
I nodded, unsure of how to proceed. Jeff was one thing, but bringing up April was another.
"Jeff somehow wormed his way back into the company and I'm worried."
"About yourself? Or April."
Her voice turned icey as she said April's name, causing me to flinch subconsciously.
"Both. But there's more. There's a rumor they're trying to let you go."
Sarah's body stiffened at the news, clearly unaware of the news.
"Are they now… I suppose it was inevitable."
