"I'm fine… just a lot going on at home."
"I can imagine. Sarah is living with you now, right? How's that going?"
I rubbed the bridge of my nose and took a deep breath.

Maya leans across the table and rests her hands on top of mine while giving me a comforting smile.
"She's just been busy with her new career and things have been… we've been on different schedules. She's constantly working and I feel like there's no time for us."
