Four months ago this had been the most sacred of sacred places to me. An uncharted territory that promised only pleasure and happiness. I could still remember the feeling of excitement, the dread, the overwhelmingness of it all. It wasn't like that this time. It took everything I had to knock on the door. I had a key (she had given it to me last month) but this wasn't somewhere I was allowed to just walk into anymore.
