LILLIAN'S POV
He kept his word about the water, but he also didn't bother to appear to bring food. I am feeling weaker the longer this goes and have gotten very little sleep on this floor. I can barely tell how much time has passed since I was taken. It is as if time, day, and night are all just falling into one another. The room only has one small, rectangular window towards the top of the back wall that barely lets any light escape inside. I am starting to worry about Azule, because she is still quiet and right now I need her more than ever. Just as I was about to fall asleep, I heard the lock click and the door began to creak as it was opened slowly. A young, frail boy came in with a tray. He was extremely thin, with messy bright blonde hair and was staring at the floor almost as if he was afraid. Despite my current situation, I felt my heart break for him.
"I h-have s-ssome fo-ood and wa-ter.." he stuttered, still looking at the wooden planks beneath us.
"Thank you." I said softly before I asked, "What is your name?"
"Um.. I-it's Cal-Callum."
"I am Lillian."
He just nodded before coming closer, sitting the tray in front of my face.
"D-d-do you w-want t-to sit u-up?" he stuttered again.
I stared at him for a moment before nodding graciously. I couldn't help but wonder what he had gone through to end up in a place like this and to be so young. I need to find a way out of here and to save him. He struggled to set the chair up again and , of course, I was of no help considering I was still unable to move.
"I h-have to f-f-feed you.." he stated as he made his way to the tray and came to sit in front of me.
"How old are you? I just turned 18."
"I-I am 11."
"I have a twin brother. Do you have any siblings?"
"N-not r-r-really.. J-just the other o-orphans that F-father has t-t-taken in."
Again my heart felt as if it were shattering for him. I could see the sadness swirling in his eyes. They were a deep blue with green speckles that appeared to be dancing throughout. I had never witnessed such despair in someone's eyes before. Do not worry, Callum. When I get out of here, and I will, I will take you, all of you with me or die trying. I soon heard a whimper and it took a while before I realized it had come from Azule. Oh, Azule, finally. Halfway through him feeding me, someone burst through the door. The sudden shock of the sound caused Callum to jump and fall from his seat. He just sat there looking at the wooden floor.
Finally, the person spoke, "Leave."
Callum stumbled as he tried to quickly get up and out of the room without looking up. I recognized that raspy voice, there was no mistaking that it was the same man from before. From the look of Callum's reaction to him coming in, it was also clear that he feared him. Who is this man?
"I am Art and I suppose it is time to fill you in as to why you are here," he heckled.
NOAH'S POV
Planning the rescue is taking way longer than I would like, but the fact remains that we do not know who is behind all of this or even why they took her. So, we have to make sure that we cover every possibility to ensure the safe return of everyone involved. It has already been five days. The pressure of not knowing where she was, how she was feeling, how she was being treated, and if she was even still alive were starting to take their toll on me. I know I have to stay calm and remember the goal. We have a meeting in 15 minutes and warriors from my pack will be joining us as well. I looked in the mirror and I had to admit that I looked like damnit. I threw on a white t-shirt and some black basketball shorts since I was planning on having a training session with my warriors after the briefing today. While I was taking a brush through my curly black hair, my phone started to ring.
"What's up, Luca?" I asked, looking at the mirror and attempting to pull myself together.
"We have just crossed the border and are heading to the meeting hall with one of the members of Crescent Moon's border patrol," he informed me.
"I will be there in five minutes." I breathed as I quickly hung up the phone, darting to the door.
I reached the staircase at the same time as Liam and he looked just as rough as me. I guess we were both in a cycle of what ifs and blaming ourselves for losing Lillian. He looked at me a moment before saying, "I should never have left her alone during our party."
"I should have stopped them from taking her away," I added.
Then, we looked at one another, nodded and headed to the meeting hall. When I walked in, I was nearly knocked from my feet when my sister ran and jumped onto me for a hug.
"Isa, what are you doing here?", I asked as I gently sat her back at her feet.
"Did you really expect me to sit at home knowing that you wouldn't be taking care of yourself? You have distanced yourself from every female that approached you waiting for her and the very night you found her, she was taken before you even got to say a word to one another. Before she even had the chance to realize her mate was right there fighting for her.", Isa bellowed as tears began to fill her dark brown eyes.
I went forward and brushed the loose strands of hair from her face before pulling her into another hug. Until now, I didn't realize just how much I needed her here. Once I let go and took a step back to look at the warriors from my pack, my family, all surrounding me, I finally felt a sense of relief. Alpha Anderson walked in along with Luna Bailey and they took a seat at the head of the table before motioning the rest of us to take our seats. Liam was to Luna Bailey's right with his beta and gamma by his side, and I was to Alpha Anderson's left with Isa, my beta, and beta female by my side. While the rest of the table was filled with warriors from both sides.
"Alright, let's start with brief introductions before we begin. I am Alpha Anderson, and this is my beautiful wife and Luna, Bailey." he bellowed before he motioned for my side to start.
"I am Noah. I will be taking over the role as Alpha of the Maikoh pack at the end of the month.", I informed them.
"I am Isa, Noah's younger sister.", she quietly stated.
"My name is Luca and I will be beta of the Maikoh Pack. This lovely woman by my side is my mate and soon-to-be wife, Kari.", he beamed as he looked at the small woman by his side who began to blush.
"I am Liam, the future alpha of the Crescent Moon pack and to my right are my future beta, Oscar, and my gamma, Ezra." he stated as he looked around the room.
Once everyone at the head of the table had finished their introductions, it was time to get to planning. First, Kari would shimmer and observe to see how many people were dealing with, as well as if they were all rogues. Once that has been taken into account, our betas will lead two teams to the base of the barrier while Kari shimmers in a small team to eliminate the source before we raid the hideout that Tyler has revealed to us.
