LILLIAN'S POV

When I finally came to, I was in a dark room. As the hours continued to pass, I still had not been able to reach Azule. She had never been MIA this long before. As hard as I tried to mind link with my family, my mind would just feel foggy, as if my link to my pack had been severed somehow or as if I had been taken too far away from them. I had to find a way out of this. My parents did not spend all that time training me for it to end this way. My neck was still sore from whatever I was injected with and I was tied to a chair with silver chains. Whoever did this knew what they were doing and left no chance of movement on my part. In the middle of my own thoughts, I didn't even hear the door being unlocked and opened until a raspy voice spoke out," Finally, you are awake."

"Who are you?! What do you want?!" I screamed.

"All in due time, my dear, all in due time." he smirked, grabbing my chin and forcing me to look into his deep emerald eyes.

He let go and walked to the corner before taking a glass of water over with a straw and forcing it into my mouth. As soon as i felt the warm liquid enter my mouth, I spat it right back at him.

"You, b***h! How dare you spit on me!!" he said, slapping me across the face with enough force to knock the chair onto its side," You just lost your water for a few days. When the time is up, I will be back and let's see how cocky you are then."

Once he was out of the room, I heard the lock click once again. I searched around the room and found a small rectangular window in the rear wall. I must be in a basement, but how can I get out of these chains? UGHHHHH!

NOAH'S POV

Once Alpha Anderson returned, Tyler was taken from the cell and placed in a chair at the table in front of us. He wasn't a threat after the injuries he had sustained from our altercation in the woods as well as the interrogation.

"How many of you are there in the mountains?" I was the first to speak.

"7."

"Who is in charge?"

"Father and someone that only he goes to see on the mountain top. No one else is allowed there, but I don't know why."

"Are you all orphans?"

"Yes..."

"Has it ever occurred that this so-called Father may have killed your parents to take advantage of you?"

"No.. but... it would make sense..." he sighed, looking at the ground.

It is strange I started feeling sorry for one of the people responsible for my mate being taken away the moment I finally found her, but deep down I knew he did not know any better. Tyler was small, frail and only looked to be 16. I even found myself wondering just what this kid had gone through to end up here.

"How old are you, Tyler?"

"16.. I just had my first shift 3 months again on the 17th..."

"I see.. I am sorry about your brother."

"It was our fault. We should have seen through him. I want him dead.", he choked out.

"I assure you he will have a slow death and pay for everything he has done."

"How old are the other children?"

"My brother was the oldest at 19, then is an 18 yr old, me and 4 more 16 yr old boys, and 2 younger boys that have yet to shift."

"Okay, get some rest. We will leave at dawn." I said, walking away from the table.

Once I was out of the basement, I called my dad and filled him in on the situation. To say that he was shocked was an understatement, but understandable. Finding out that I had found my mate, but she was taken by rogues that have been hiding in our territory right under our noses for years, was a lot to take in at one sitting. We planned out a perimeter to assure that she would not be moved before we were able to get to her. After my father was filled in and things were settled with the perimeter, I went to fill in Alpha Anderson, but was interrupted by my phone. I was shocked to see it was my future beta, Luca. I looked at Anderson and he nodded. So, I accepted the call and placed it on speaker.

"Noah, we have bad news. There is some type of barrier around the mountain top." he stated before continuing without letting me breathe a word, " however, I may have a way around this. I also met my mate last week. I was hoping to discuss this with you face to face when you returned, but it seems the situation has changed as our future Luna is in trouble. You see, um my mate is not a werewolf."

"Okay then what is she?"

"A Vampire and before you say anything, she is nothing like the ones we have encountered in the past. I am unsure how the pack will react to her becoming their Beta female and if I must when the time comes, I will step down, but she is our only hope for getting through the barrier."

"She is your mate. Regardless of what she is, it only matters who she is. She will be welcomed and become a member of our pack. Now, how can she get us through?"

"She can shimmer a few of us in. Once we find the source of the barrier and take it out, the rest can join us. Also, once our future Luna is safe, we need to talk about my mate's past as well."
