Alora POV
I sit in the bath until the water is cold. Even though I am shivering, I can't bring myself to get out of the water. If I do, it will all become too real. Leonidas will be gone, and I don't know when or if he will return. I can already feel his absence from the castle, and I don't think it has been an hour. My heart aches without him here. What if I have to live lifetimes without him? It is a pain I don't think I can bear.
"Queen Alora," Bruno yells through the door. "Are you okay? You have been in there for a while."
I wipe the tears from my cheeks. "I am fine. Why are you still here?"
"It is complicated," he stutters through the door. "I am not supposed to leave you unattended."
