CHAPTER 65 Don't Be Stupid

1183 Words

Lobo POV I raise my sword over my head, preparing to strike the girl dead, but then Isabella does the unthinkable. She throws herself over her. "Stop. Can't you see she is only a child?" "Goddess," I snap at my mate. "She tried to kill me." The girl rolls over onto her back and cries out in pain. Her body is shaking with fear, or maybe she is still in pain from the rays of the sun. "Please. I don't mean you harm." Her voice is raspy, and her words come out choppy. It is like she hasn't talked in years. I take a moment to fully take her in. She doesn't look to be older than thirteen or fourteen, but looks can be deceiving among shifters and fae. "You tried to take off my foot," I shout at her. Isabella scowls at me and removes her robe, draping it around the girl's body.
