The two friends

"Again?" "Why are you surprised?" Asked Lizzie. "… You should be used to this already!" Becky could not believe it. She lacked what to say, and wondered what was wrong with Cassie. With all those scandals on i********:, she was still not prepared to give in. "Cassie, I thought you loved that man, or you don't?" "Please, stop asking your questions. It is not needed!" Lizzie told Becky who seemed to be taking the issue as personal as she always did. Seeing the confusion on her face, Becky continued. "… I mean, you and I know that Cassie wanted to feel the man that is why she agreed to date him in the first place." "If you are part of this nonsense…" "I am not. What I am saying is, it should come as a surprise to you anymore." Said Lizzie. "She has rejected so many proposals and you should know your friend by now." "The same way she used and dumped Brian, that innocent guy that loved her so much..." The issue with Brian was a different one. It was true that she used him, but Cassie did not want anyone to remind her about what happened. "I am still here, please!" They seemed to have forgotten. "I thought you were joking," Lizzie told Cassie. "Now I know you are serious. Babe, you need to stop this." "Why should I?" Cassie asked. "…Why should I? Listen, girls, I date men just to have s*x. I know I have turned down so many proposals, but it is not my fault. These men always talk about marriage. Why don't people date just to have fun?" To Cassie, people should just be dating for the sake of dating. No one should be dating with the primary objective of marriage in mind! "So you mean it?" "You know what you were saying?" Becky was the one who spoke this time. She wondered how a girl could choose such a wayward lifestyle. Cassie was just amazing. Whenever she did something in her relationships, it was as if she did not care what the other parties were going to feel. Her stories had been shared on social media, and her stories always sparked a lot of comments. "This is the effect of dating the so-called economically independent women. They just can't settle down in marriage!" Cassie believed that marriage was a kind of cage, where a lady was confined in that small hole called a home. She was expected to be many things in marriage but what annoyed Cassie the most was the fact that the woman was expected to always be submissive. If she failed to be submissive then there were high chances of divorce. Cassie was not prepared to subject herself to any man. The story with men had driven her up the wall at some point that she decided, much as she yearned to have a child, she had decided IVF was a good option. Such discouraging stories as the one she read entitled 'our father' did not discourage her. She preferred a female doctor to assist her. At least women can be trusted so far as artificial insemination is concerned. Her description of the doctor had been simple, consisting of only four words. 'He should be handsome!' She wanted a handsome boy or a cute girl. No way was going to be compromised by the spermatozoa from an ugly man. The next morning Cassie decided she was going to visit her doctor and check on her progress. Twenty-seven was the perfect time to have her kid and just hoped it was going to work.
