It was like the world stopped for a split second. Emanuel stared wide-eyed at the doctor. He couldn't believe what he heard.
'Daddy?' Princess little voice said which brought Emanuel back to reality.
'Martha take Princess to my chamber.' Emanuel said and passed a sleepy little to her nanny. Once Princess was out of the room Emanuel voices out.
'What?' He said shakily.
'Her blood test came out.' Thomas said for the first time and he sounded out of breath. He was still staring into space.
'That's impossible. Every little is infertile. Besides, even if she isn't, she's only been with Thomas the past year. He's not human. Unless...' Emanuel's eyes went back to his friend who snapped his head up.
'What? Do you think I'd let a f*****g human touch her? She's mine!' Thomas said with gritted teeth. He was offended that the king would assume such a thing. To his knowledge, Emanuel was the only one other than him who had been in bed with Sabrina. And even then he would never let the king touch her without his presence.
'I was just wondering how a fetus ended up in her belly. Vampires can't breed with humans' Emanuel explained while he rolled his eyes at Thomas's defensive attitude.
'Tom....' Sabrina stuttered, which made Thomas stand up immediately and brought her into his arms as she sobbed.
'It's okay, darling. You're just a little bit sick that's all. Daddy will fix this, I promise.' Thomas cooed at her and turned to the doctor with a glare.
'You're gonna get it out of her.' he said pointing a finger at him. Mr. Folley was shocked at the order and turned to the king for some help.
'Thomas, be rational. We haven't even figured out how this happened.' Emanuel calmly stated.
'I don't f*****g care how it happened! I want it out of her!' Thomas screamed losing his temper.
'And if she was r***d?' The King guessed.
'Actually, your highness.'
The elite vampires turned to the doctor who voiced out. He stood from his chair and took a breath before speaking.
'It's actually not entirely impossible for vampires and humans to breed. There have been studies done and there were about 5 cases in history where a vampire and human were able to create a hybrid. It's extremely rare. But not impossible. Although, the chances of survival for the hybrid usually last about 2 years. The longest was rumored to be 5.'
'Where did you get this information?' Emanuel asked with brows furrowed. He had only heard of hybrids in books and fairytales. They weren't very strong and usually die off in the womb without a trace. The DNA of the vampires and the humans just are not compatible. It's not suited to form a healthy living being. Which is why no hybrids are ever heard of in society.
'I met up with a researcher in Morthem when I was practicing there. He had explained to me that a woman was r***d by a vampire and had given birth to a baby boy. He was missing a limb from birth but he was able to function properly until he turned two. They found out he had muscular problems and that's when the complications begin. He couldn't move around much but he managed to live till he was five. ' the doctor explained.
'What the f**k are you saying? I don't give a s**t about a kid in Morthem I want that fetus out of Sabrina now!' Thomas yelled again. He was flailing his arms up in frustration.
'So you're saying that there's a chance that baby could be Thomas's.' Emanuel started ignoring his angry friend.
'If you're sure that Sabrina did not come in contact with a human Male, then yes. It is the only option.'
'Or it could be yours.' Emanuel turned to Thomas when he whispered that. This made Emanuel's frown deepen. That can't be. It's ridiculous.
'What are you saying.'
'I don't know. I've been f*****g her for years and she's never been knocked up before. I let you touch her and this happens.' Thomas moved closer to Emanuel and stared at him with a taunting look.
'I would watch your mouth, Thomas. I'm still your King.' he snarled back as the guards at the entrance stand guard ready for a command.
Thomas kept his glare for a second before turning to one of the maids.
'Get my carriage.' he ordered and carried Sabrina in his arms as he started walking to the door.
'You're leaving?'
'If you won't help me get rid of it I'll find my own f*****g doctor.'
'Thomas, this isn't safe for Sabrina. We need to keep this situation as classified as possible. You're an elite, if this gets out people will be questioning. ' Emanuel explained.
'I agree. Humans are fragile when they are carrying a fetus. Even the wrong emotions such as stress or anger can trigger a bad reaction. It won't only hurt the baby it will hurt Sabrina too.' Mr. Folley explained.
This caught Thomas's attention when he heard that this pregnancy could hurt Sabrina. He had never heard of a pregnancy that could damage a person. Vampires are strong creatures who do not get dazed by childbirth neither do they get sick. Are humans really that delicate?
'I need to stop this.' he said out of breath.
'Stay another night. We will discuss this further in the day. Prepare a room for the duke.' Emanuel ordered the maids and they immediately get to work.
Thomas frowned when he heard Emanuel's request to put him in a separate room. He thought he would be staying with him in the king's chambers.
Before the king could step out of the tea room he decided to ask him about it as he passed Sabrina to her caretaker and they left with the maids to the guest room. Thomas waited until it was only the two of them left before voicing out.
'Separate rooms, babe?' he said as he walked closer.
'What's the problem?' Emanuel said, already prepared to hear Thomas's clingy side. Emanuel and Thomas were never a couple. They merely take part in casual hookups now and then. But Thomas tends to behave like they are whenever they are alone. Emanuel never bothered correcting him but for some reason this time he cringed a little.
'I don't know, I thought maybe you'd want to talk about this, just us.' Thomas took a seat on the sofa and buried his face in his hands. All Emanuel wanted to do was to go back to Princess and forget this whole thing even happened. At least for a few hours.
'Princess is waiting for me.' he simply said and bent down to kiss the duke on his forehead before walking out of the tea room leaving his friend in there to think about everything that happened that night.
As Emanuel walked towards his room he heard little whispers and soft giggling coming from inside.
'You may leave.' he instructed the two guards that were escorting him back to his chamber. They bowed and walked away.
Emanuel slowly walked closer towards the door making sure to keep his movements silent.
'I got a new yellow dress last week too. It has purple ribbons on it but Tuppy pulled out one of it like the i***t he is.' Emanuel frowned when he heard Princess called the dog 'i***t'. He doesn't like it when she was being mean or foul. But he figured she must have woken up in the midst of all that has happened downstairs and is now playing with her dolls or just speaking with herself as she tends to do a lot.
'Yeah? He must be jealous.'
Emanuel froze when he heard another voice replied. A males voice. He quickly but quietly moved closer to the door and peeked through the c***k.
There on the marble floor was his Princess hugging her teddy. Next to her was the butler's son, still in his guards uniform, squatting and talking to the Little.
