*This chapter may contain things that are a trigger to some. Violence/Abuse. This is fictional harm and by no means do I support any kind of abuse. (Unknown POV) It's been 15 years since the kidnapping of princess Mia and the disappearance of her parents. It's unknown if any of them are alive but life in Dracnoia had to continue. The northern kingdom was discovered by those traveling to the city, however, it had been too late for some. A white lighter warlock and a light witch were brought into the kingdom from the East to undo the sleeping curse. Many of the non-dragons living in the castle and the surrounding city lost their lives to the nightmares. The stronger creatures and dragons managed to survive and the ones that had sweet dreams awoke to the horror of their rulers and princess gone.  The Royal Guards searched the entire continent for the royal family but no sign of them was found. It was like they vanished into thin air. The warlocks and witches did their best to detect magic but the only thing that showed up was the sleeping. Whoever had done this covered their tracks very well and even the underworld creatures denied having any involvement. The demon King was also sure he had nothing to do with them.  The north was left in turmoil and so the East Kingdom rulers stepped up and took over to ensure the safety of their people. The council agreed with this and stood by the East. The people of Dragonia embraced King Erman and his Queen Sanjula, in hope that they could one day bring back their rulers safe and sound. They did the best they could to rule as fair and kind as their northern family but it was difficult to rule both kingdoms and also be in charge of the council. The hope was that one day the princess and their eldest son would marry and rule all but with the princess gone, this dream was fading fast. The fate of Dragonia and all of Draconia was up in the air and very much endangered. (Ghari's POV) "What?! The f**k Kerwyn!" "Sorry! My Prince!", said Kerwyn as he hung his head and stared at the ground. I stood up holding my frozen arm and gritting my teeth from the pain. My best friend and top warrior, The Black Knight Dragon, Kerwyn Trinidad, had frozen me during morning training. The light witch on duty for healing scurried over to me and undid the spell. She was petite and very scared of me as she scurried off to her corner again. I stared daggers at Ker, thinking of how I could punish him for besting me.  For a 6 foot muscular knight, he had quickly submitted to my dragon roar and kneeled before me, mournful and worried.  "GET UP!" I said in my serious dragon tone, eyes turning silver to show my dragon was upset. He stood up quickly but kept his head down. I couldn't hold it in any longer, so I let out a hearty laugh and slapped him on his shoulder. "You win this time, brother!" Ker shot me a death stare but then joined me in laughing till our bellies hurt and we rolled on the ground like children. When we were able to breathe again, we sat up and decided our bellies needed food. The early morning training was always done before breakfast, so off to our chambers, we went to then join the others in the dining room. I took a much-needed shower, allowing the hot water to run over my sore muscles and calming the pain from the ice. When I entered the dining room, the other royal members had all gone, leaving only Ker, Mitchell, and my younger brother Cahir. Cahir was trying to convince the others that he knew of a place in the Earth Kingdom that held a sideshow full of magical creatures. "That just can't be, Cahir.", I said crossing my arms and leaning back into my chair. "I'm telling you, Ghari! I went to visit my human friends and they took me to see a special show." Any kind of magical creature being forced into a show could not be true. The Earth Kingdom had been without its ruler for years but my parents made sure the Royal Guards kept those types of "shows" were legal and made up of just humans. "I'm serious, you guys really need to go see it to understand!", said Cahir, now fully frustrated. His eyes were now on fire, literally. He slammed his hands down on the table and stormed off. I looked around at the others and shrugged my shoulders. I guess I would have to investigate this show if my brother was so fired up about it.  (Mia's POV) Earth Kingdom "WELCOME, Ladies, Gents, and all magical persons alike! Good Evening all and welcome to The Moritizo's Sideshow!", said Alincdor in the announcer tone that was created by Helyma. He looked out into the crowd and smiled. The tent was packed and that meant lots of coins for him. "Tonight, my family and the wonders we present will mystify you and take you on a journey to the stars!" He continued with his false claims as we prepared behind the large dirty, once purple, now faded curtains. I hate having to do this night after night. However, if I don't do it, Alincdor will put me in the Iron Torture cage and beat me till I pass out. The first time I was thrown into the Iron Torture, I was probably about 10 years old. I was experiencing a change in my body and felt ill. I didn't wish to do the show, so I asked to be excused. I would have to perform my flying tricks with Rayna and Marina and felt I'd be sick if I did so. He had smiled softly at me and in a soft, almost fatherly tone had told me I didn't have to do the show. I believed him and had stayed in bed. Well, I would never make that mistake again. That night after the show, he threw me into the cage. The cage was kept in the lower level of our mansion. It was very dark except for one torch that hung on the farthest wall. The cage itself was made of iron and had spikes cut into it, so no one could hold the bars and try to escape. In the center was a large iron chain that was secured to the ground with iron spikes. He placed the heavy chain around my neck and ripped my dress, so I was exposed to the dampness of the air. He then had me turn my back to him, so he could s***h me with the iron and thorn whip. I screamed out loud and cried so hard my throat closed. Every s***h tore the flesh from my back and the blood ran down my back till it darken the soil. After what felt like 1000 lashes, he left me chained and exposed in the cage for 3 whole days. He would send Rayna or Marina to bring me stale food and water but they were not to linger nor speak to me. With their eyes, I knew they cared and understood my pain, for they too had been in my situation at one time or another. On the 3rd night, Alincdor came back and asked if I had learned my lesson. My voice was gone so I nodded yes and he released me. The wounds on my back were treated by Ciel and I was allowed one day of rest before having to return to the show. "Mia. Mia!" Rayna called out to me, snapping me out of my thoughts. "What?!" I responded, narrowing my eyes at her. I then realized it was time for our show to start, as Helyma and her daughters, Mora and Malise, stepped behind the curtain. They were the "animal" trainers. It was a joke, cause we all knew too well that they were more like the "animal" abusers. The creatures in the show were in fact magical creatures, forced to remain in their beast form and mistreated worse than us humans. "Tonight, you are all in for a special show!", Alincdor spoke to the crowd as they oooo'd and awww'ed. Rayna was up first and she performed flips and tricks through the air. The crowd was in pure awe.  "The 3 sisters will defy the sky dragons and fly over us while never using wings!", he said as I looked on and asked the gods to protect us.  It was now my turn. I held on to the rope tightly and took in a deep breath. I jumped off the high platform and swung higher and higher till Marina gave the signal to let go and fly to her. I reached for her hands and grasped them firmly. I felt my heart skip a beat as he swung me back onto the high platform. I let out my breath and darkness took over. (Alincdo's POV) "F**K!", I said as I saw the stupid girl fall back. Luckily Ciel was there to catch her. I guess I'm gonna have to punish her after making sure she's still alive. "It's alright folks, it's all just part of our wonderful show!", I told the crowd as I signaled to Ciel to get her off and had the other two continue without her.  I had Helyma take over for me and went to meet Ciel. This stupid b***h almost ruined my show, I would need to hurt her bad for this. "What the f**k is wrong with her?", I asked Ciel, who was trying to get a response from her.  "I don't know Al, but it can't be good. She's burning up and she's not responding to anything I'm doing." "F**k, Tre will have my head if I let another one of you f*****s die!", I say as I direct Ciel to take her back to the mansion and contact the doctor.
