Emma's POV
Stretching my legs and arms out, I yawn loudly and then roll to my side, grabbing my phone from the side of the bed. It's about 8 in the morning on a Saturday and the sun is hidden behind a line of storm clouds and my boss gave me the rest of the weekend off, so it's a perfect day to be lazy again. I lay my phone back down and quietly get out of bed and go to the bathroom. When I finish in there, I make my way out of the room, making sure not to bother Noah, and go to the kitchen to make coffee. I'm surprised to see that Amber and Liam are already up.
"Mornin' guys. What has y'all up so early?" I ask as I pull a stool up to the bar and reach over grabbing a mug and pouring myself some coffee.
"We were going to go for a run, but then it started raining, so we decided to make breakfast instead. Noah still sleeping?" Liam asks.
"Yep. I'm sure he'll be up soon though." I sip my hot coffee, enjoying the feeling of the steam against my face. Suddenly two cold hands grip the bare skin on my waist where my shirt is raised and I jump, spilling coffee everywhere. Liam and Amber are bent over laughing hysterically while I try hard to compose myself. From behind me I can hear a deep chuckle.
"Good morning beautiful." Noah says with a smirk plastered on his face as I turn around to glare at him. As our eyes meet, he begins laughing and the frustration takes over. I huff and push past him as I walk back to the bedroom. Behind me I can hear all three of them laughing even harder than before at my reaction. I know I am overreacting, but after the last few days, being scared is not exactly what I enjoy, plus, I'm completely covered in coffee and would rather not be. I go into the bathroom, shutting and locking the door behind me and quickly strip out of my coffee stained clothes and throw them in the hamper. Just as I turn the shower water on, I hear a knock on the door and the knob trying to turn.
"E, come on, let me in." I hear Noah call through the closed door. I ignore him and turn the shower head on and climb in, enjoying the hot water running over my skin. I hear another knock, louder this time and door jerks violently as Noah tries to get in.
"Go the hell away and let me shower in peace, please!" I scream out the shower to him standing outside the bathroom door.
"Don't be mad, E. I was just playing with you. I didn't mean to get you all pissy." I hear the humor still in his voice and it reignites the fire in me. I quickly bathe and wash my hair, cutting the water off as soon as I finish. I snatch a towel from the rack and wrap it around me and quietly unlock the door so that Noah won't know I'm about to walk out. I can see the shadow of his feet under the door, so I know he is still standing there. Before he can test the doorknob again, I swing the door open with quite a bit of power and laugh to myself as I feel it slam into Noah.
"Owe! s**t! What the hell was that for?" he groans, stepping from behind the door, rubbing his forehead.
"That was for scaring the s**t out of me and thinking it was funny." I huff and walk past him to the closet. I pull on a matching lace thong and bra and grab the first sundress I see and slip it on.
"Awe, Emma! It was a joke. Why are you mad?" he asks me as I walk from the closet and plop down on the bed, grabbing my phone and unlocking the screen.
"I'm mad because I've had enough s**t scare me this week to last a lifetime and I thought you of all people would understand that, but obviously not!" I scream, throwing my phone down on the bed as I stand to walk to him. "Instead you, Amber, and Liam thought the s**t was f*****g hilarious and here I am still shaking from it!"
"I'm sorry, Emma." he says quietly, his head dropping. He looks at me from under his lashes, regret written all over his face. "I didn't even think about that and I'm an ass for that. I'm really sorry baby." he wraps his arms around me, pulling me into him. "Forgive me please?"
"We're sorry too, hun. We should have been more considerate. Forgive us?" I hear Amber say from the doorway. I look up and see her and Liam standing there, guilty faces as they look at me.
"Y'all are forgiven, just stop being assholes." I slap Noah's chest and turn in his arms to face Amber and Liam, giving them a genuine smile. "Now where the hell is breakfast, because I'm starving!" I announce as I pull away from Noah and walk past the other two back towards the kitchen. They all follow behind and Liam hurries into the kitchen ahead of me and begins making everyone a plate. We all pull a stool up around the bar as Liam sets plates pilled high with scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes, and fresh fruit in front of each of us. We dig in and no conversation is made while we stuff our faces with the delicious food. Eventually we finish eating and I lay back in my chair and rub my now very full stomach, letting out a sigh of satisfaction.
"So, E, I was thinking you and I could get out today, just the two of us." Noah says, breaking the silence and turning to look at me.
"What did you have in mind? I was kind of hoping to be lazy again today." I say, still laid back in the chair, but a little more upright than before.
"Well I'm sure Liam and Amber wouldn't mind some time together alone and I think some alone time for us would do some good. You and I have haven't spent quality time alone together in a while like we used to and with everything that has gone on in the last few days, I just thought it would be nice." he quickly rushes out, trying to convince me that this is a good idea.
"You still didn't answer my question." my eyes narrow at him and I study his face as a smirk plays at the edge of his lips.
"It's a surprise, but I promise you'll love it and you'll only have to wear real clothes for a couple of hours." his smirk grows and I can see he has put a lot of thought into this.
"Fine. By the look on your face I can tell that arguing will be pointless." I huff and roll my eyes. Suddenly, Amber shoots up from where she is sitting and quickly starts clearing everything away and cleaning up. I stand to help her, looking at her with a puzzled expression as she rushes around the kitchen. "Whoa woman! What's the hurry?" I finally ask.
"If y'all are getting out of here for a date, then I'm wasting no time making Liam all mine all day today." she says as she starts putting all the dirty dishes into the dishwasher. Amber has never been one to beat around the bush with anything, so her directness now is no surprise to any of us. From the corner of my eye I see Liam stand and make his way over to Amber in the kitchen.
"Well hey now baby. Let's take things slow and enjoy ourselves." he growls in her ear, just loud enough for Noah and I to hear.
"Gross!" Noah shouts, pushing away from the bar and standing up. "I'm out y'all before I lose my breakfast." he turns and walks away to the bedroom and I quickly follow behind, shutting the door behind us as we walk into the room.
"So what do I need to wear today then, since you won't tell me anything?" I question as I walk towards the closet.
"The sundress you have on right now will work for everything I have planned today. All you need to worry about is a small overnight bag. I'm treating my baby to the good life for the next 24 hours." he says as he comes up behind me and wraps his arms around my waist, placing soft kisses along my neck and shoulders. A chill runs down my spine from the contact and I can feel the heat rising in my belly. The effect this man has on me is amazing.
