POKER

BACKLASH.

One calm Morning as Razor is preparing himself to go to school  he hears gun shots within the neighborhood.  As stubborn as Razor is he gets out of the house to go check what is happening, when his mother Harriet tries to convince him not to get outside as he may be injured in the process. When he opens the door of the house he sees his father's black Mercedes Benz parked but crushed on a tree.  He looks sideways then above to see if anyone is watching him, he then tiptoes to the Benz and slowly  opens the door to the car.  He then tries to unplug the seat belt that has tied his father with his head leaning on his hands which are on the steering wheel. with all the energy he has he struggles to move his father out of the car, he loudly calls his mother out of the house. As Harriet is walking out of the house  a man dressed in a black T-shirt and blue jeans walks towards Harriet as if to ask a question and plunges a  knife on her lower waist hip. 

Harriet screams from the top notch of her voice when the man leaves her for dead. Razor is shocked and confused nit sure of what to do when he  sees his mother dropping to the ground. At this time  Razor is still trying to carry his father from the car.  Razor tries as much as he can to run to the nearest phone booth to call his God father and explain to him what happened.  As soon as he gets to the phone booth Razor is looking pale and drowsy plus already dressed up for school.  While at the phone booth he listens to the environment as he waits for his God father to the phone on his end, His God father Morris answers the phone on the other end. Razor patiently waits as he studies his surrounding only to notice that he is the only one in the empty street.

While still waiting for his God father to answer the phone on the other end he  hears footsteps of someone walking towards him, he begins to panic not sure of what will happen to him. Minutes later he hangs up the phone and waits for his God father to call him back, Razor hides inside the phone booth, sits on the ground thinking to himself of how cold the world has taught him  to be. He then remembers  that he left his father stuck in the Mercedes-Benz, with a one door if the car. " what if anything happens to him, how will I be able to face myself in this society." He tells himself but then decides  that he will have to save his father before anyone gets to him. 

He gets runs back to the house to mother into the house, then runs back to the Benz that's  parked across the street, suddenly minutes later he sees a man walking out of the nearest cafeteria though not sure if the person is harmful  or not.  With whatever that he has, Razor stops the man out of fear to ask for assistance to help remove Razor's father from the car, the man approaches him and asks him" hey good morning how may I assist you " razor replies that " I need your help in trying to adjust him so that he can come out of the car". so the man walks behind him and Razor moves to the other side if the car, the man fumbles with removing the Razor's father from the car until minutes later when he breaks the silence and asks "Uuhm  now that he's out of the car where is he to be placed " and Razor replies that he's to be left on the house across the street and laid on the porch. Razor is left covering up for his parents death, when he reaches for his father's phone to call, Bruce's father and  inform him of what happened despite Bruce's father being the family's Investigative detective and inform him of what happened earlier. So the Investigative detective listens in keenly and asks Razor where he is, he replies that he's at home covering his parents. The Investigative detective heads over to where Razor stays in order to  decide on the way forward. As soon as the investigative Detective gets at Razor's home, he tries as much as possible to try cover up what happened without informing the other policemen of what's going on.  

The investigative Detective tries to cover up of what's going on with his colleagues when he insists that he knows of what is happening and that it would be of great pleasure if he got to investigate what exactly what was happening because there was another homicide that was reported within the same time frame Yesterday night. But within the same time frame there is always one suspect or more involved in such a mess.

Moments later, the investigative detective returns with an his assistant , plus his other colleague at Razor's home . At this time Razor is still shocked and also no t sure of what will  happen, Razor at only 15 is to give a statement of what happened or what he saw. A couple of hours later Razor's God father appears looking shabby besides being all drunk. Razor's God father, walks in, in a staggering manner and  asks what happened. but then Razor remembers of what his mother Harriet told him.

" I don't know who your father works with but all i know is that he is in  grave danger if he doesn't watch out , you will follow the same route your father followed but not to discourage but i'd truly love to know what it is that you'd love to do with your life?' I'd like to be a successful bank manager following the right channels, besides mum am very proud of you and one thing i would really like you to know that i heard that Dad also deals with drugs plus that he works with Jezebel my God mother, plus i also heard that she's very evil despite the fact that she kills anyone  who crosses her." 'Meanwhile, i somehow think that this is how Dad died, not sure what the deal was but one had to be the sacrificial lamb." says Razor to the  Investigative detective though if this is what that happened then you should probably go forward with the case. Razor replies to the detective that there was someone else who saw her mother walking out of the front door and stabbed her leaving her for death. Am so sorry  for what has happened but is there anyone else who saw you try cover up for your parent's death asked the investigative detective? Razor replied that there was a man he called earlier to help him drag his father into the house. And there anything else that you remember from in the morning.

Minutes later Razor's God father wakes up from a long sleep besides having walked been drunk plus being shabbily dressed  and asks what us happening. Minutes later Razor's God father asks Razor if he would like to go back to school or he would like to play poker with  the rest of the group.

And  Razor replies that he will play poker but for a prize,  although he's the best in the group  he will do anything to get that cash.  One morning as  Razor is heading to play his first game, he meets up with  his best friend Bruce, Bruce asks him of what  happened, Razor replies to  Bruce that if he gets a chance later after school, they should meet up and discuss on what happened, plus he should not disclose what happened to anyone... Bruce agrees and heads straight to school, when Bruce gets to school, he heads into the classroom all by himself and wonders of what is going on, it then dawns on  him that Razor has quit school and that he's made up his mind to join a gang.

As soon the class  teacher gets into class, she  begins to call the class register and when Bruce is asked about  Razor he says that he isn't  feeling plus he will be deferring soon.  The day is over and its time to go see what Razor is up to, so immediately the four o'clock  bell rings Bruce rushes to meet over with Razor so as to get further information of what happened. Bruce gets there at the location that was directed to him and  as soon as he gets there he sees Razor a sixteen year old boy playing poker with big boys, Bruce joins in. 

As Bruce and Razor are playing Poker,  Jezebel walks in and sarcastically asks Razor of his father's whereabouts and this is when it finally hit him that Razor's father was killed by Jezebel his own God mother, Razor doesn't say a word, he is pissed off plus  he's now very furious but actions speak louder than words. Jezebel insists that Razor should follow him to her office and narrates to him of how his father  went to borrow her some  money to pay up for the house Mortgage. Razor isn't pleased with the information given, besides that Jezebel adds that whatever decision she made was always for the benefit of everyone. Razor isn't comfortable with everything that's going but just to accept and move on with life. So one morning, as he's going to the casino, he meets up with Bruce in the meantime, Bruce's father is trying the best he can to cover up for his son's best friend after a heavy conclusion from the investigative  director that this case is a homicidal case. though the evidence  has been tampered with.

Back at Jezebel's casino as they are playing poker, the mafia groups have been divided into two these are Braze and Garza. Razor ends up playing for Garza since he's the youngest in the group, on a bet that he had to win for Garza, besides having played for the crew  for a while. 

So he plays for the crew and gets a couple of wins besides,  when he wins he gives his God father the money to keep for him till when he's old enough to spend his own money. However, Razor doesn't feel much comfortable though he comforts himself of what to do. little does he know that he's a ticking bomb yet to explode.

Jezebel and her crew try as much as possible to make life hell for Razor. At the Casino Razor tries to win himself a gift hamper. Minutes later Bruce
