“Mate.” Karen's voice was low and hoarse filled with disbelief. He walked toward me step by step each footfall feeling like a stomp on my heart! His powerful Alpha aura enveloped me like an invisible net! I struggled to breathe, my entire being screaming in both longing and fear. “No.." l instinctively shrank back, but the pain from my twisted ankle hit me like a jolt, leaving me unable to move. My reaction clearly confused and irritated him. In his mind, an omega discovering their mate is a future l Alpha should be over the moon, not quaking in fear like they've seen a ghost. “What are you so afraid of?” He crouched down, trying to get closer tome. I could see the golden glow in his eyes, a sign that his wolf was taking charge! His wolf, that fierce black war wolf was scrutinizing me through his gaze! It was filled with raw possessiveness. “Don't touch me!"l screamed, my voice trembling with terror. My rejection only served to infuriate him further. “I'm your mate!" he roared, the pressure of his Alpha aura intensifying making it hard for me to breathe. The Gamma soldier kneeling nearby buried his head even lower at the display. “Lyra! Be quiet!"l ordered my wolf in my mind. "But..but he's our mate! A gift from the Moon Goddess! We can't reject him!" Lyra protested anxiously; it couldn't understand my pain. Karen reached out, wanting to touch my cheek. i jerked my head away, dodging his touch. That action was like à spark on a powder keg. He grabbed my arm and yanked me up from the ground. My injured ankle couldn't take the weight, and l tumbled into his arms. The moment our skin made contact a jolt of sensation, sharp as lightning pulsed through me! The mate bond was desperately trying to establish itself. l could sense his emotions-his confusion, his anger and that overwhelming urge to mark me right there and then. "Let go of me!" l struggled with all my might, but against an Alpha, my strength was nothing "You belong to me," he breathed into my ear, his warm breath cascading over my neck, He buried his head and took a deep inhale of the unique scent at my neck, one that only he could identify, belonging to his mate. "Vanilla and moonlight..* he murmured with satisfaction, "By the Moon Goddess, you are mine. His wolf roared within him, urging him on: “Mark her! Mark her! Make her entirely ours!" I knew what would happen next! He would bite my neck and complete the mark! Once marked, bur souls would be eternally intertwined, and i would never escape! The pain of being rejected in my past life mixed with the terror of being forced now pushed me into a frenzied hysteria. “No! l reject you!"l screamed with every ounce of strength i had, my voice sharp and desperate. Those words halted Karen in his tracks, He looked up, his golden wolf eyes fixated on me, filled with a storm of fury. "What did you say?’ I knew l hadn't yet uttered the ceremonial reject phrase, but my defiance had already thoroughly insulted his pride as an Alpha. “How dare you reject me?" His voice was frigid as ice. "An Omega daring to reject your Alpha mate?" “i'd rather`die than be your mate!”l shouted, tears streaming down my face. Karen's expression turned ashen. He didn't say another word; instead, he swept me up effortlessly, ignoring my struggles and punches. “Take her back to the main house.Keep a close watch on her," he commanded the Gamma soldier, his tone brooking no argument. "Understood, Alpha.” He forcibly carried me back to the place i had been desperately trying to escape. The main house was brightly lit, and the servants stared at me.astonished and envious, as i was held in the arms of the future Alpha. He kicked open the door to his room and roughly threw me onto the soft bed. “You're not going anywhere." He towered over me, looking down as if l were a possession he owned.“After tonight's ceremony, you'll learn just how foolish it is to resist an Alpha's will. With that, he turned and left, locking the door behind him. I lay there on the bed, trembling Everything had spiraled out of control. Not only had l failed to escape, but l had fallen into his grasp even sooner than in my past life. “Elara, why did you do that?" Lyra's voice was filled with sadness and confusion.“He's our mate, our other half. Rejecting him will bring us pain too.” “Lyra, do you trust me?”l curled up hugging my cold body. ..Of course, l trust you. We're one.” “Then remember, no matter what happens, don't accept him, Because the price of accepting him is far worse than death." | whispered, my eyes filled with endless despair. Outside, the moon was slowly rising, casting a cold, bright light. That was the color where my nightmare began.
