Mated to the unknown mate

LUCAS POV

I was awakened by my mom to go get my deliveries done." Hi wake up, you are gonna be late'', i heard my mom shout from downstairs. I fell from my bed as I tried to get up. I looked in the mirror closest to my bed to see my short black hair in a mess, my golden eyes looked tried as always and my pale skin shining in the sunlight that is coming through my window. " Today is the day i should find my mate, based on last night's dream." i said looking upset because i didn't want a mate. My last mate was fake, she used magic to make me attracted to her. But thanks to the barrier around my house, the curse was lifted and she was exiled from this city because of it. It is illegal to force someone to be your mate.

After looking in the mirror for a few more minutes, I made my way down the stairs to my mom in the kitchen. Good morning my little genius. How are you feeling? It's Saturday. You have a lot of deliveries to make. she said to me with the same sweet smile that she always makes when she sees me every morning. i am great. I told her, looking disappointed. I had another one of my precognitive dreams last night. I said in a sad voice that shocked my mom. Why are you so sad?; she asked me sounding alarmed. Is something bad going to happen? she asked me. Don't worry, it's not like that. The thing is, i am going to find my mate today. I sighed, looking at my twin sister coming down the stairs.

Good morning sis. I said joyfully to my twin sister Emma as she entered the kitchen and took a seat next to me. Morning bro she replied as she took up the plate with all the pancakes that my mom made. You can't have them all. There were like 12 pancakes on the plate, I said while looking at her angrily. Bro is that a challenge i hear? she said mockingly to me. Just try, i replied, ready to place a bet with her. If you manage to finish them all within the next 20 minutes and not complain for half the day, I will make you the magic nail polish you keep dreaming of. I said challenging her. Deal! she shouted happily as she started to race to finish the pancakes on time. I sighed as i just took up a cup of coffee that my mom made me. As i had finished my coffee, I jumped up off my chair and ran to my room to start my day.

I put on a black shirt and black jeans as I headed to my room door to grab my black jacket. Instead of going through my front door, I opened my window and jumped out. I made sure to turn myself invisible before i did. Thank god, i can fly or I will not be able to make my deliveries every Saturday. I have been doing it for a few hours and on my last delivery, i smelled something additive while i was flying past a gas station. Because of how fast i was flying, I was 2 miles past the gas station by the time I stopped. I went back but the smell was gone. I was a bit disappointed it was gone. I was going to ask who I had stopped by, but before i could, my mom sent me a list for me to buy. I was in a hurry. I flew as fast as I could to the supermarket. I got all the things i needed, then i went to look for my favorite instant coffee. While i was looking for it, I felt something slam into me. When i looked down, I saw a girl with long curly hair sitting on the floor before i could say anything or help her up. I heard the sweetest voice i ever heard in my life saying i am sorry. It sounded so sad and apologetic that i felt bad for her. Her head was down, so i didn't see her face. Not wanting her to hear the worry in my voice, I replied that it's fine.

It came out as if i didn't sound like i care. I was wondering what i should do now, when she got up. Her head was still down at that moment. I smelled the same additive scent from earlier. It was coming from the little girl in front of me. I stood there feeling confused while looking down at her. She looked like she was 5'5. While i stood there, lost in thought, she raised her head up and looked at me. Her eyes looked like big bright marbles. When I looked at them, it wasn't just one color, her eyes were a mixture of a few different colors which I realized because of the lighting. She was wearing a mask over her mouth and nose so i couldn't see them. While we stood there looking at each other for a while longer, i heard a female voice calls out a name, but i wasn't paying attention to it. Then suddenly, my should-be mate lowered her head and apologized and ran off, leaving me stunned, standing looking at where she ran. I stood, therefore, a few minutes feeling sad that my mate ran away from me. Instead of going after her, I stood there wondering if she was underage or maybe human. By the time i decided to go after her, she was nowhere to be seen.

I went and got checked out and decided to take a taxi home since i needed some time to think. As soon as i arrived home, my mom and dad were in the living room with my twin talking about my mate. I decided to just ignore them and use my powers as a warlock to put everything away. While I was in the middle of what i was doing, my dad came in with my mom next to him in the kitchen, asking if i found my mate. I ignored him until was finished so i would not lose control on the items i was putting away. After i had finished, I decided to answer his question. Yes, I have, she had pretty eyes and a cute voice i said then I sighed at the end. I am going to bed. Do not wake me and no I don't want dinner, i said, then ran up to my room and closed the door. I could hear my parents and sister laughing downstairs. I paid them no mind, then i laid down and cast a sleeping spell on myself so I could see if I would meet her tomorrow, I closed my eyes and went to sleep.
