Chapter 3-Sense of Scarlet Devil(FDF 1)

(WINDOWS ERA LET'S GET IT BOIZ)

RDS (as usual)

We ha-ave arri-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-ived. Ugh. Lag.

Arc: No time for jokes now, look at this swarm!

*150 fairies approach from ahead*

That's way more than in training.

Arc: They don't seem to want to attack, though.

Fairy: Hello! We didn't know you'd visit the lake.

You seem surprisingly friendly!

Fairy: We don't attack unless threatened or attacked.

Oh, well do you know where the SDM is?

Fairy: Over there, where the mist is coming from!

Arc: It's faster than it was in the game...

Then we need to stop it before it reaches the village. To the mansion! Oh, and fairies, if you see a red and white maiden, don't attack her. That goes for Cirno and Daiyousei too.

Fairy: Okay!

[Player Select]

Reimu

A streak of red and white is flying through the forest at high speed.

(The mist seems to be spreading horribly quickly. Nearly twice as fast as the last time. I need to find and stop its source!)

(Still... It's so romantic behind the shrine at night.)

*Some fairies appear, since they didn't get the message*

Please move! This is urgent!

Reimu shoots ONE bullet at nothing in particular, which aggros the fae.

Fairy: Ahh! She shot!* the 25 fairies that appeared all shoot simultaneously*

(Not an issue.)*Grazes every bullet*

*another fairy jumps in*

Fairy: Hey, stop!

*all pause*

Hm?

Fairy: Did you not hear? We can't attack the shrine maiden! *recites* If you see a red and white maiden, don't attack her. That goes for Cirno and Daiyousei too.

Fairy: Ehh? Said who?

Other Fairy: The guy who helped Cirno!

But who is he?

Other Fairy: He had brown skin and this circle of some sort!

!

?: No you won't!

*Rei fires a shot towards the source of the sound*

Rumia: Ow!

*The fairies leave*

Have you ever heard the phrase good medicine tastes bad?

Rumia: REEEEEEEEE

*Rei shoots more danmaku*(11)(10)(12)(8)(14)

Rumia: Darkness Sign"Decimation"

*Simply dodges and fires a yin-yang orb*(30)

Rumia:*Screeches and charges, only to get hit in the head with Reimu's gohei*(88, Crit)

Rumia: Wah!*Falls to the ground, defeated*

Now to move on.

(In the game, for stages 1 and 2, the fairies only shoot if you shoot. However, the orb enemies from FDF still appear in both stages. They fire like traditional enemies and can damage both Reimu and the fairies. Cirno will still challenge her to a duel, but the fight is optional since you can politely decline.)

{In the book, we'll skip Misty lake since no one would attack Reimu. Daiyousei gave her a power item F and an Extend!}

[Stage 3]

{The fairies in stages 3-6 are not affiliated with the ones from Misty Lake. They attack normally. There are also certain enemies with airhorns, which will blow said airhorns and decrease the stealth meter if not killed quickly. If it depletes, the boss will be alerted and you'll have to fight them at the end of the stage. If it's not empty by the end of the stage, they'll not notice you and you'll skip the fight.}

?: Hey, Reimu!

Who's there?

RDS: Me! And I know where the red mist is coming from.

Where?

RDS: The Scarlet Devil Mansion.

Rei: Again?

RDS: Yeah.  Let's get going.

Reimu: Why aren't you affected by the mist though? Despite your magic, all your traits are that of an ordinary human. 

RDS: Must be my magic protecting me. Or all the garlic I ate beforehand.

Arc: That would make sense, but that other possibility is dumb!

RDS: But it works. And you know that if something is stupid but it works, it ain't stupid.

The three protags fly toward the SDM.

Fairies with airhorns appear but are quickly taken care of.

Arc:(Isn't Meiling supposed to be the stage boss?)

RDS:(Yeah, but she's asleep.)

Arc:(How in all-)

RDS:(We're the same person.)

Hey? You two?

Arc: Coming!

Marisa observing from a distance: She's got a kid helping her? Imma checks this out. *follows*

Rei and co quietly step into the mansion.

Arc:(quietly)This thing is massive.

RDS:(also quietly) Yea. Now we find Remi.

Rei: I'll check the library.

Reimu flies off. RDS and Arc go upward toward the tower.

[Player Switch] RDS

 {In stage 6, you fight Remilia regardless if you have stealth or not [you can't skip a chapter boss], and the stealth meter may or may not be visible depending on if you fought Sakuya in stage 5[It won't show if you beat Sakuya already.] If it is, an empty stage 6 meter will result in you fighting both Sakuya and Remilia at once. They have their separate health bars and you must defeat both to end the fight. The meters for stages 5 and 6 are very strict, but you can hide behind terrain like in stage 4. If the airhorn enemies don't see you, they won't alert. In the book, RDS uses a different method to skip Sakuya, and stealth was full when encountering Remilia.}

*Flying through the halls looking for Remilia*

RDS: Where IS Remi, though?

Arc: I dunno, clock tower? This is FDF.

RDS: You have a point. Clock tower it is.

The two sneak past all the fairy maids they run into (quickly dispatching any who notice), getting closer to the tower, and Remilia.

Unfortunately, they're spotted by the only maid there with merit.

?: The mistress is busy.

RDS: Not Sakuya.

(Sakuya Izayoi, Perfect and Elegant Maid, Level 35)

Sakuya: And besides, isn't Meiling supposed to keep intruders out? I heard the shrine maiden and magician were also here.

Clone Me(HAHAHAHAHA): Oh that's nice- Wait, what? Magician?

Sakuya: Yes, now hold still.*Knife throw*

Clone:*Gets knifed in the head and disperses*

Sakuya: Wait. If that was a fake, where's the real one?

Me and the Arc: *already gone to clock tower cuz super speedrun tictacs*

Sakuya: Well, it's not like I can't track him down. (Meiling will have a lot of explaining to do once I'm done with them.) 

Meanwhile, RDS and Arc have nearly reached the top of the clock tower, where Remilia sits on her floating throne.

Arc: How'd you make that clone?

RDS: Item bx. 

Arc: Not bad, for a rookie.

RDS: Rookie my butt. What's with all these bats? It's like the place is leading up to a-

They land on the platform where Remilia waits. It takes up the entire space except for the stairs, so there's no danger of falling off.

RDS: Boss Battle.

?: A human and his familiar. What brought you here? Was it fate- Ah, the arc of the RDS. It's been a while!

(The Eternally Young Red Moon, Remilia Scarlet, Level 50)

RDS: I found you! Haven't you done this before?

Remilia: I had, but I found out that the mist was poison to the humans. This fog is different.

RDS: Then why is it making all the youkai around here crazy?

Remi: It's a charm that draws them here for my tea party. Ain't it swell?

Arc: Yea, about that... I ran some tests on the fog on the way here and not only is it a LOT faster, it's still poison. You're gonna have to get rid of it pronto. The last time I saw the fog it was way too close to the village for comfort.

Remi: Oh. Oh. Uh, um...

She fidgets with her fingers.

RDS: You can't call it back, can you?

Remi: Well... there is one way.

Arc: Ah! What is it?

Remi: The only way to reverse an irreversible spell is to defeat its caster.

Arc: So in a word, we just need to destroy you!

She chuckles.

Remi: I think you should be careful about what you say... Tis the night of the full moon. I'm at my maximum power.

RDS: Welp, I need someone to test this power out on anyway.

RDS summons his Ether Gauntlets.

Arc: The gauntlets again? Why can't you use a staff or something?

RDS: These seem to be the only weapon I can call, so that's what I'm going with.

Remi: Then tonight's going to be a wonderful night.

RDS attempts to use the Item Box, but...

[Infinte Item Box still charging. Grow some patience.]

Arc: Well, guess I'll have to use this thing I swiped off Sakuya.

[Allows its user to use all danmaku from the game Bullet Hell Monday. This also unlocks the BMH Ship Morph.]

[Use? >Yes No]

RDS: Aight, here's my plan. Step one, I beat you. Step two, you lose. Step three, I go to bed because it's been a long frickin day.

Remilia hops off the throne and draws her Gungnir.

Remi: Then let our battle commence, under the scarlet moon!

(BOSS BATTLE: Remilia Scarlet!)

[Engage Battle]

{Most of Remi's spell cards here are identical to her FDF cards, just flipped 90 degrees in whatever direction she's facing.}

Remi: Heaven's Punishment: "Walpurgis Night!"

Purple lasers fire. When they hit the wall they fire red bullets.

RDS: Touhou powers activate! *Starts dodging like a maniac*

[Laser shot selected]

RDS and arc start shooting lasers themselves.

[Spellcard Bonus 500000]

Remilia flinches.

Remi: You're good, for a child.

RDS: Do you think any ordinary child would come to a place like this? Nada.

Remilia: But how would you do up close?*Dashes in a zigzag formation*

RDS: Focus...Now!

RDS performs an uppercut the second Remi is in range to strike. (345) 

RDS: First mistake.

Remi: Gah!

She's knocked toward the ceiling but hops off it and lands across the arena.

Remi: Divine Spear: "Spear the Gungnir!"

Remilia throws the Gungnir and duplicates it several times.

[Switch to Homing Type]

*Starts firing missiles*(140)(200)(280)

*Gets hit*Ow!

[HP: 8234/8576]

The Scarlet chuckles.

Remi: Not so tough after all, huh?

RDS: You dare mock me?

*Remi uses Curse of Vlad Tepes and fires bullet-trailed knives*

RDS makes the natural face of displeasure

The Arc uses the item box.

[Got 5 Bombs]

Arc: Whaddya say we nuke her?

RDS: Sure. Means less trouble for us. Bomb! (2500)

[Spellbonus Failed]

Remi: You're strong for a human, I'll give you that.

RDS: Can't you just skip to the final spell? I don't have all day, and it's getting late. Besides, Sakuya could jump me any second...

Remilia: Very well.

Remilia gathers red energy.

Remilia: Armageddon...

RDS: It's the singularity-

Scarlet: DEVIL FIESTA!!!

All hell immediately breaks loose. Red bullets of every type go everywhere. Bullets shoot more bullets, knives bounce off walls, bats swarm from every direction.

In all the chaos, RDS loses his rhythm and gets crit twice.

RDS: GrrrrrRRRR-

Remilia: *Smirk* Done yet?

RDS: [Rage: 101] *Looks straight at her* You are. [GIGABREAK]

The RDS emits an overwhelming energy wave, shaking the surrounding structure and knocking Remi off her feet.

Remi: What the?!?!

Arc: Do it while she's stunned!

RDS: Brave enough to take this one? Super Ether Beam Bomb!

RDS fires a MASSIVE cyan beam that consumes the other 4 bombs. (12348)(Supercrit)

Remi: But why-  AGGGGGH! 

The sheer force of the attack sends Remi rolling on the floor, blows the wall behind her to bits, and completely destroys the throne. Good thing it's night outside.

(Victory!)

RDS: I did it...

The RDS grunts and slowly gets up. The vampiress awakes soon after, with damaged clothes and some cuts and bruises. She walks over to him.

RDS: Hey, you're alright

Remi: All's forgiven. I need to get around to reinforcing the clock tower anyway.

RDS: This does mean-

Remi: Yes, the mist will be removed. That power of yours... I am quite curious.

Remilia flies off to somewhere in the mansion. Reimu shows up around a minute later.

Reimu: Apologies for my slowness in getting here. The little devil and chief maid gave me a bit of trouble. Wonder where Patchouli went...

RDS: Could've used your help, but hey look! We did it!

Reimu: Well done. You seem to have a knack for this sort of thing.

RDS: Thanks. I didn't think that fighting would be such a drain on my energy.

Reimu: You'll get used to it.

Arc: Oh, before we take a look at your stats, I should tell you since we are technically the same person in 2 different bodies, we share stats now.

Reimu: That inevitably will get out of hand.

RDS: Yeah, especially late game when my stats are in space.

Arc: Uhhhh... I think they already are.

Arc: And you have over a million max health and stats in hextuple digits.

Rei: Let's just hope you can control that power.

Arc: It's completely busted, with your Touhou knowledge- well fiction knowledge in general.

RDS: And those items should be self-explanatory. (And I actually get why the items would be based on Yukari and Nitori.) But for now, let's go celebrate our success in solving the Scarlet Devil incident!

Marisa then shows up from nowhere in particular.

Mari: Oi, Remiu! Heard you this guy helping you.

Reimu: Well, his intention was only to help, but he ended up...

Marisa: Beating the vampire herself? Dang.

They fly out of the mansion and head home.

Reimu: I would like some rest. I was not prepared to solve an incident, especially one I tackled before, on such short notice.

Mari: At least we got these books! *Carrying books in a sack* (To RDS) Hey, shouldn't you be tired too after taking down the vampiress?

RDS: Well, I had a power nap right after. And about the incident...

I kinda was ready for it.

Marisa: Wait, ready for it? What are you, a secret all-knowing god or something?

RDS: It'll take a loooooong while to explain. I'll tell you another day.

Arc: And we're giving Reimu full credit for the incident resolution. No need to thank us Rei, you deserve it.

Rei: You... you what?!
