Midway through watching the fight between mom and Devlin, I feel some of my power flow over and into Devlin.
“Diamond, why is some of our power flowing into Devlin?” I asked her.
“Because he is our mate and though he has not gone through the Den test and passed, he is already proving his worth to us. I am showing my approval by sending him some of my strength. He can’t access it for these fights. I’ve blocked him from doing that, but he won’t feel others hit on him like he used to. Remember how I told you that because of the mate bond our healing ability extends to him?” was her response.
Apparently, according to Diamond, whether I accept Devlin as my mate or not, our healing ability gets extended to our mate. It’s a way to ensure a non-dragon mate lives as long as the dragon mate. I
