I reread the note a thousand times, until I memorized every word. Silly thoughts like calling him crept into my mind. I wish that were an option. I wish it were, but it wasn't. Finally, I shut my eyes to sleep. But they flipped open at the sounds coming from the window. I got louder. Like someone was throwing stones at my windowsill. The silly thought that it might be him got me jumping to my feet and hurrying over to the window. I looked and it was Nathan. Of course, it was him. Joe wouldn't throw stones at my windowsill. He'll break the front door instead. Seeing Nathan was a bit more exciting than I'd like to admit. Sure, I'd have loved it if it were Joe, but I wasn't exactly disappointed either. He gestured at me to come down and I nodded. I grabbed my coat and left the room.
