DAY THREE It ’ s barely even morning, but Keith ’ s already up and about. He ’ s never been one for sleeping in, and right now he ’ s finding it impossible to sleep at all. He was just getting comfortable after hours tossing and turning on the floor, when his bladder started to ache. It ’ s taken him another hour to pluck up the courage to do it, but he ’ s finally outside the bungalow now, looking for a decent-sized tree to pee up. That ’ s just about all there is in this place: trees and grass. When he looks around he finds it hard to believe this little oasis of greenery existed so close to where he lives ... where he used to live. The fading darkness blurs the detail of everything outside the immediate area. From here Keith can see very few signs of the outside world – a few grey roof
