Fires burned in the outer courtyards, smoke curling into the night, while distant roars and the clash of claws echoed across the walls. Kael’s forces moved cautiously, shadows among shadows. Every step was calculated, but the tension was suffocating. Wolves whispered among themselves, voices tight with fear and doubt. “This isn’t going according to plan,” hissed one lieutenant, eyes darting nervously between squads. Another growled, claws scraping against stone, “We’re too exposed. If we rush, we’ll fall into their trap.” Arguments flared, small disagreements escalating into sharp words. Fear and frustration rippled through the ranks. Kael moved swiftly, placing himself between the warring factions. “
