ROSE
I felt my breath come back to me as I opened my eyes to hazy figures and I thought: I must be dead.
I saw the figures come into full clarity; it was Oliver and my dad. I breathed in and out in relief that I hadn’t died yet.
“Daddy?” I said the one word I hadn’t used in such a long time.
“Rose, oh Rose my baby girl.” Dad said, crying.
“Oliver, is it you?” I asked, still fuzzy from having my fun near death experience.
“Yea, it’s me Rose.” Oliver said, kissing me.
“Did you save me?” I asked, seeing Oliver nod.
“I drank the poison out of your system to save you.” Oliver said, seeing me get up and hugging him.
“That’s fine, as long as you’re not dead.” I said, kissing him passionately.
“I am glad you said that, because you and I have an unfinished date.” Oliver said, taking my hand and driving me to the restaurant that we went to before Nicoli showed up.
That is my life, welcome to it. I am Rose Marie Swarte and my mother’s soul can finally rest at last.
