When I saw the freshly laid out bed, I swallowed hard and looked at Alpha Gregory, who kept a straight face. I tried to remain calm and recall how Daren had taught me to forget about their all-seeing, judging eyes.
“Ready when you are,” Beta Alaric said, and I exhaled.
Then I walked towards the bed, my body trembling violently, but I could not help but trust Daren again. I felt as if I owed him my entire life because all he had done was save me from his insane family.
I sat down as soon as I got to the bed. I attempted to undo my zip, but a shout from the council stopped me.
