“What?” the twins and I both asked at the same time.
While Daren struggled with the guards, threatening to have them removed, Cameron, who was almost at the door, turned around and approached his father. This prompted Alpha Gregory to order them to allow Daren to stay.
“Dad, is this a joke?” Cameron inquired, his arms folded across his body, and his face wrinkled until the lines on his forehead were visible.
I was not the one on the receiving end, but I felt strange because I didn’t want to be involved. All I wanted to do was go home and live my normal life, but I could not because I could not untangle myself from this.
“You want me to believe that something as worthless and disgusting as this has the power to make or break me?” Cameron said with a scoff, while pointing at me.
