Jason’s P.O.V
Erin looked pissed, seriously pissed and sexy as f**k.
“You have 5 seconds to get your scrawny little ass off my boyfriend’s lap before I drag you off by that fake blonde hair of yours.”
God this was making me so horny for her – was that wrong?
“Aww, you think you’re his girlfriend? That’s cute.” Carina mocked as she ran her fingers down my body.
“Hell yeah she’s my girlfriend and it looks like she’s about to beat the s**t out of you.” Carina looked at me in disbelief as I smiled proudly at Erin. It looked as though her lifetime talent for putting up with s**t and laughing things off had finally caught up with her. She slowly handed her drink to Mikey and started taking off her earrings, handing them one by one to Ollie, never taking her eyes off her target.
“Carina, if I were you, I’d start running right about now,” Ollie said, smiling as though this was the best night of his life. After weighing up her options, Carina finally got off me and held up the backs of her hands to Erin.
“$300 manicure, you’re not worth it.” As she started flouncing off, Erin pointed to her feet.
“DIY pedicure, you’re not worth that.” Carina rolled her eyes and disappeared into the crowd.
Ollie stepped up beside Erin, draped his arm over her shoulder and beamed, “Now that, was impressive.”
“No that, was f*****g hot!” interjected Dean. I stood to face Erin as she put her earrings back in.
“What was it I said I didn’t wanna look up and see you doing?” she asked giving me a severe look.
“Hey, there was no coke in her cleavage,” I said in mock defence and a smile spread across her face. I stepped up to her and took her waist in my hands and growled, “that was hot as f**k”. Erin smiled dangerously and wrapped her arms around my neck, kissing me hard. What manner of reckless creature had I awoken in her?

Several drinks and hours later, I was laid back on the indoor couch next to Ollie, watching Erin with three other girls dancing slow and sexy on the pool table; the rest of the guys sat around the coffee table with us.
“I’m bored,” said Dean.
“I’m not,” I said watching my girlfriend’s ass swaying to the music.
“Game time!” said Jack clapping his hands together and sitting up. “What’ll it be tonight guys?” Our party games usually consisted of pretty extreme dares, designed to either shower the participant in glory, utterly humiliate them or get them laid. “Deano - your party, your pick.”
Dean thought for a moment the said “Heads”. Heads is basically where you throw a ball into a crowd of people, shout ‘heads’ and you have to make out with whoever catches it.
“Forfeits?”
“If no one catches or you hit someone in the face, you down a drink. Refusal to kiss the catcher is a Full Monty. Rejection from the catcher is a kick in the balls – if the catcher doesn’t do that themselves.” Dean excitedly ran to get a ball as I contemplated my fate.
“Well, I’m losing my clothes then,” I muttered to Ollie.
“You just gotta aim for your girlfriend and hope that being drunk makes her good at catching,” he laughed.
Dean flopped back down on the couch he occupied with Mikey and we started throwing the ball to each other, waiting for Dean to call someone out.
“Mikey.”
“Heads!” Mikey shouted as he hurled the ball into the crowd on the balcony.
Moments later a leggy brunette came wobbling in on very high heels, ball in hand and asked, ‘Is this yours?’
“No baby, but you are,” Mikey said, swaggering over to the girl and kissing her with full force. Mikey may have been a depressing f**k at times, but he always pulled if he wanted to – the guy has never had a swing and a miss. The girl wrapped herself tight around him and when he figured she wasn’t letting go any time soon, he chucked the ball back to us before backing her away towards a bedroom.
“Damn, every time!” Jack said, shaking his head as he caught the ball and started chucking it around again.
“Jase!”
“Come on babe,” I mumbled, aiming straight at Erin. “Heads!” The ball was perfectly on target when a girl, jumping up and down to the music, punched the ball straight into the face of the guy next to her.
“Dude, that went wrong in so many ways!” laughed Dean hysterically as he went to retrieve the ball. I sighed a deep breath of a relief and downed my drink.
A few minutes later, “Me! Heads!” except Dean completely fumbled the throw and the ball landed straight into Jack’s hands. Ollie and I burst out laughing at the mortified expressions on both their faces.
“So what’ll it be Deano? Strip or get kicked in the balls?” Ollie managed to breathe out. Dean stood up, rearranging his face into a cocky smile.
“Oh come on, you’d never refuse me baby would you?” he said as he got up and prowled towards Jack.
“No no no no you back the hell up asshole,” Jack said warningly.
“What?!” Dean said still walking as Jack’s leg swung up and kicked him hard between the legs. He doubled over in pain as everyone collapsed laughing and crawled back onto his spot on the couch. “You jerk, I would have made it worth your while,” he wheezed.
“What we have is too pure, I wouldn’t wanna ruin our friendship,” Jack smirked as he started throwing the ball again.
“Well, I don’t like you right now!” Dean continued to groan. “Ollie, you’re up!”
“Heads!” he called, throwing the ball into the crowd and face falling in horror as it landed straight into the hands of Erin, who had just been making her way back to us.
“Oh s**t!” Jack laughed.
Dean managed to sit up long enough to look and see where the ball had landed, “My oh my, this just got interesting.”
“What?” Erin said, completely baffled, holding the ball in her hands.
“Well Jason, would you rather your girlfriend look at my junk all night or kick me in it?” Ollie turned to me asking. Well, this was not a decision I thought I’d have to make tonight.
“If she doesn’t, I will,” I said, choosing the lesser of two evils and Ollie got to his feet and made his way over to my girlfriend.
“Erin, I sincerely apologise for what I’m about to do,” and with that he pulled her in by the nape of the neck and crashed his lips to hers, his other hand holding her by the waist. Erin’s look of shock was replaced with anger within seconds as she took Ollie by the shoulders and drove her knee up, full force between his legs.
“That’s my girl,” I laughed as Ollie staggered backwards and Erin looked at me with in confusion.
“What the hell was that?!” she yelled.
“Better than the other option, believe me. You okay there Ol?” Ollie, kneeling on the floor gave me a thumbs up.

Erin’s P.O.V
Safe to say that it had been a strange night – nearly got into my first fight, got kissed by Ollie Franks, kneed him in the balls – but I had at least done what I had set out to achieve. I had spent time with Jase in his world, got to know his friends better (a little too much in some cases) and had actually had a really good time.
It was so easy to forget what they all did for a living and a part of me still wondered whether I was in denial or choosing to be non-judgemental; separating the man from the job as Jase had put it. All I did know was that nothing was going to make me let him go now. In the short time we had been together he had made me happier than I have ever been before. He was the one person with whom I could be entirely myself – he always had been.
I was currently lying on his chest on the balcony couch as he slowly ran his fingers through my hair and gently kissed the top of my head. I allowed myself to get lost in my senses – the feeling of his chest moving up and down, the smell of him, the warmth radiating from his body, the sound of his slow, deep breathing. I never wanted to move.
“Thank you for bringing me tonight,” I mumbled against his chest.
“Thank you for wanting to come. You were right, I like that you know me better now from doing ‘me’ stuff and meeting the guys; who love you by the way.” My stomach gave a little squirm when he said the word ‘love’. It had happened more than one recently that I’d almost said it to Jason and I’d managed to catch it just in time before I made a fool of myself. I mean, it was too early right? “I love you too.” I raised my head to look at him. ‘Nooo, he didn’t say that. You only think he said that because you were thinking about saying that’ I thought to myself.
“What did you say?” I practically whispered. He looked into my eyes for a long quiet moment, his hand still stoking my hair.
“I love you.” My heart had fallen out of my chest, into my stomach and I felt tears welling up in my eyes.
“I love you too,” I said gently, moving my fingers up to softly stoke the stubble of his chin. “Never leave me,” I said, speaking my worst fear for the first time. In the past I hadn’t been too disappointed by any of my break ups because in reality they hadn’t meant that much to me, but this – Jason – meant everything.
“I will never leave you.”
