It was already night when Napper reached the cave. The tall grass had provided cover for him to leave the fortress behind, and after that the rocks had kept him safe. The Katana bastards had not been stupid enough to look for him on foot, knowing that whatever group found him would be destroyed too quickly to have mattered. Their ships, on the other hand, had made his life considerably harder. Taking down a starship was not impossible, at least to a man of his talents, but it would not be easy either.
