Episode 1- Pain

CORINE'S POV

Corine was driving going to Harula West Province.

This place is very isolated. How could these mountains, trees, and rivers help me? Grandpa is so ridiculous!!

She was very focused on driving and she was holding the steering wheel tightly when she felt like the car ran differently. She decided to stop and come out.

What's happening? 

As soon as she got out she saw the flat tire on the passenger side.

 Omy omy!!!!  she said slamming her hand on the car's hood 

Why are these happening to me?? Why me?? 

She started complaining and with tears ready to rush out from her yes. 

She was trying not to cry but she can no longer stop her emotion because of the frustration.  This time she let go of tears and started crying soundly.

 How can I fix this? (while crying).

Why is this province having the roughest road? 

She then stamped her foot on the ground wishing that the ground could feel her pains too. 

What am I going to do now? huh?!  You flat my tire in the middle of this hot weather province that looks like an empty ground. 

ahhh!!!! I (slammed the car hood) hate (slammed the car hood again) myself (slammed the car hood again). 

This time her tears were uncontrollable. All she can do was to fall down and sit on the ground, fold her arms hugging her legs and rest her head over her knees. Still crying, crying more,  and harder.

The place is very peaceful. It is just the right place for her cry and screams whatever she wants

Way back  11 years ago.

Her mom remarried and has another family a few months after her father's death.   

They are having a family lunch together at their house after her mom and his new husband's civil wedding. Corine just got home from the learning center where she had her extra study about their business.

Everyone was in the dining room, except her grandpa. Everyone looks happy. 

Corine never thought that her mom will marry another man just a few months after her dad's death. Her mom smiled and said;

Corine, honey come and sit here beside me. Let's have lunch together

She saw her smiling, celebrating like normal while I still feel the pain and longing for my father's death.

She looked deeply at her mother's eyes and she cannot see the feeling of loss and pain from the recent event that happened to their family.

Corine walked out and rushed into her bedroom.

The first thing she saw was their family picture on her side table. She walked towards it and then lift it to see how the family she used to have. Then she heard two knocks from the door before it opened. She saw her mom walking towards her, and said;

 I tried my best to convince your grandpa to let you stay with me but he refuses. 

She walks closer and caressed her back. 

Corine stepped away and said;

What's wrong? why do you have to marry someone else? 

Her mom walks towards her and gets the picture on Corine's hands then she sat at the end of my bed looking at the photo  

Believe me, honey. I've never seen myself marrying another man aside from your dad But life gave me another chance to love and be happy. You know honey, whatever happens to our life is the result of our decision now. There are so many things in my mind that I wish I could tell you now but I can't. Corine, I love you more than anything else. Please remember that.

It is useless to tell me that. My eyes are wide open to see what's happening. You never loved dad, haven't you? Maybe the rumors of you marrying dad for fortune is real. You are my mom but you are disgusting. You've given me very useless reasons. Are you run out of words that you are telling me those. I don't know if I would ever see the same mom as before or maybe I really won't see you like before because the curtain was closed. Your acting job is over. huh!  but I know that you'll regret doing this to us.

Back to the present.

Corrine didn't move even an inch from her position but she calmed down a little. Slowly she looks up in the sky and whispered.

 --- I never thought that I will ever experience this pain. I never thought that you will not be beside me during this time. I thought I could count on you but I was wrong. You're so cruel. Where are you now that I needed you most. 

 You know crying is good but crying excessively can make you look horrible. Mind if I help you?

Corine almost jumps from where she's sitting when she heard a man's voice from behind.
