Daughter of the Moon

**Jason’s POV**      I watched as my mate flung her father to the other side of the stage. The power in the air was choking, and the sound of her growl made everyone turn to stone. She was huge, bigger than any Alpha we have seen, her white fur shining under the sun, each movement showing a flash of grey fur. We held out breathe as we watched her approach the whimpering alpha. “He has to submit… After that he has to! “Venessa whispered. Max put his arm around his mate, clearly as tense as she was. “He will be fine… “Crystal said softly, but she was still scared for her mate, and of her daughter. Alice’s wolf walked up to the Alpha and the bone shattering growl started again. To our surprise, the alpha lowered his head and submit. Alice’s tail curled upwards, and her eyes shone in dominance. The Alpha stood up facing her. This challenge is over. The Alpha Mind-Links everyone, and we all let out a breath we have all been holding. Putting their cloths in their mouths, they walked behind the stage and shifted back to their normal forms then walked back onto the stage. “Well… “James groaned rolling his shoulders. “What will you decide to do with me, Alpha. “He said pridefully. Crystal stood up along with Max and Venessa. The room was still quiet as we waited her decision. “Father, you may remain in the pack. You’ll always have a place here. “Alice said soothingly and hugging her father. The pack roared, cheering for their new Alpha. “And, I have decided on a mated pair who will be by my side. “Alice said. Moving from my seat, I walked on stage next to her, putting my arm around her hips. “Jacey and Henry will be replacing Max and Venessa as this packs Beta and Beta Female. “She nodded to the couple, and they nodded back. “You’ve done well inside the pack, so I hope this is a retirement worth wild. “She said and everyone laughed.     After the ceremony and the challenge things carried on as usual, except for one thing. Me and Alice are now the Alphas of this pack, and everyone could feel the intense power radiating off of Alice. Her wolf is amazing. Rider said like a pup seeing their mother for the first time. He wasn’t wrong either, she is something else. I looked at my mate from the living room as she was smiling with her parents. She was the best. As the sky darkened, dinner was prepared by some of the she-wolves and placed onto the table. Me and Alice now sat at the front of the table, with Jacey on her side, and Henry on mine. “Well, anyone ready to eat? “A she-wolf named Harmony said as she placed a pie down on the table. Her black hair swinging over her shoulder and her pale brown eyes shining as she kissed her mate on the head, a male with black hair and dark green eyes greeted her with a smile as she sat down next to him. “Yes please! “Alice said tiredly. We ate for a few minutes before taking the entire pack on a run, late night runs were good for us, it tired us out so we can fall asleep easily. Me and Alice were in the lead, the pack running closely behind us, letting out little howls of joy and jumping over logs and stray rocks. Try not to hurt yourselves! Alice giggled through the packs mind-link as someone had jumped off a boulder. Feeling adrenaline in my paws, I wanted to run faster, I felt so free! Only when we heard an arrow whizz by our heads did we stop immediately. The hell was that! A female’s voice broke through, it was Kristine, a Pale tan wolf in the back that the arrow barely missed. Stay calm, it’s just humans again. Alice said reassuringly, but she wasn’t so certain herself. Alice, I think it came from the trees. Henry nodded to the leaves that rustled disturbingly as if it were forced. You know what to do. I told her, nudging my head under her neck, and growling at the tree. Her eyes clouded; I could tell now she was communicating with her wolf. Her eyes then clouded to black, letting us know her wolf was in control, enough to make the pack back up and whimper. Who’s out there! Her voice boomed; her wolf was in Alpha mode. The leaves rustled again and at an unexplainable speed, a female with red hair jumped down, A bow made of fine oak and arrows with arrow heads made of silver, she was actually trying to kill us! Who are you, I will not ask again. Alice’s wolf said, stepping dangerously close to the newcomer. “I’m not obligated to answer your questions. “She smirked and readied her bow. With the flick of Alice’s tail, Jacey and Henry were already on the newcomer, pinning her down with their massive paws. “f**k… “They whispered and Alice snorted. Now, what are you doing here? Alice’s wolf repeated. “To kill you and your mate, wasn’t it obvious? “The newcomer huffed looking at her bow that Jacey had snapped in half. I felt anger rising inside me. Why? I demanded, love radiating off of her, a thing only a mate could feel. “I was sent here. You’ve angered some people off, and I was here to kill your pack. “They said rolling their eyes. What’s your name? Jacey said softly, but she still had a snarl plastered on her muzzle. “Will you get off me if I say it? You’re crushing my ribs. “They nodded to Jacey’s paw on their chest. I will consider. Jacey growled. “I’m viola. “She grunted under the loss of Jacey’s paws. “I can’t hurt you now, you broke my bow. “Viola grunted. Jacey shook her head. That’s your own fault. Viola was clearly unhappy with that retort. So, what does a human want with a bunch of wolves, and how have we even upset you. Kristine called from the back. Viola shook her head, almost laughing at us. “I’m not human, actually. “She said. At that moment we watched as her eyes clouded to gold. “I’m a hybrid. “She said. Alice’s eyes were clouded again, meaning her wolf was talking with Alice. They returned to their normal unnatural pale crystal color and Viola flinched. “I see… “Viola said looking at Alice. “I’ve heard about you; I thought the visions weren’t real. “She shrugged, admiring her. Alice stood rigid as stone; she knew something… What is she talking about Alice? I told her, but all I got was a look that told me “You don’t want to know… “or “I can’t tell you… “. The pack was extra curious now, staring at the hybrid in case it went on to tell what exactly she was accusing their Alpha of. “You haven’t told them? “Viola laughed, smacking her leg. That’s… None of your concern. Alice said sadly, the whole packed froze, their Alpha was hiding something from them, more importantly, she was hiding something from me… “Well, let us tell them, now, shall we? “Viola looked around the pack, her arms open as if she was welcoming someone, but all she was welcoming was a secret, Alice’s secret. No, you cannot! That hit a soft spot-on Alice. “Do you think your pack will even trust you if they don’t know? “Viola said. James and Crystal walked up to their daughter; their heads bent low. What is she talking about my pup… Crystal said soothingly, James just looked at her with worried eyes. “Your daughter is not just your daughter. “Viola started. “And her wolf doesn’t fully belong to her! “. The pack gasped, and I was confused and shocked on how a thing could even happen. I birthed her, she is my daughter, what are you talking about? Crystal snarled, pacing towards the Hybrid. “She’s your daughter, but she Is also the daughter of the moon. “Viola sighed, but a smile plastered her smug face. The pack whirled their heads to Alice, confused and… scared? “Her wolf belonged to the Moon Goddess when she was living of course. “She continued. “Once the moon goddess died, her wolf had never moved on. There was a vision that the moon goddess’s wolf would be reborn, born into the descendant of the moon. “She pointed at Alice. “Her name is Lunis isn’t it? “Viola smiled smugly. Alice’s eyes were shifting from black to its normal color, her wolf fighting for control. “C’mon let me hear from the legend herself again! “Viola teased. Once Alice’s eyes turned fully black again, she lunged at Viola pinning her down with her muzzle close to her face in a dangerous snarl, her dominating growl surfacing again and shaking the earth. How could you! That was meant to stay with me, you ratchet halfling! She roared, tearing up Viola who’s screams were echoing with each blow. No one was supposed to know, I was never meant to be reborn! We were just fine until your half-blooded leech of a self comes along and ruins it! By that she had ripped the throat out of the hybrid, blood plastering her once beautiful fur. The pack backed up, seeing their Alpha in a fit of rage. Rider was begging to come out, so I let him. Lunis, it’s ok, you don’t have to hide anymore. Rider said approaching his mate. You knew?! I yelled at him, and he only rolled his eyes. Please, you’re scaring our pack. He said and Lunis’ head whirled around to face him, blood dripping down her chin. They couldn’t know… It was to protect them! Lunis whined, facing her scare struck pack. It was to protect you… She told them whining. The pack stood up, approaching their Alpha with bent heads. Protect us from what…? A male named Buck said, his brown and tan fur mingling with his mates. From this. Lunis nodded to the dead hybrid. I knew they were going to come, but not this soon… She lowered her head apologetically to Alice’s parents. Rider nudged his head under his mate, their fur gliding over one another. You don’t have to be afraid; you didn’t have a pack then; you have one now! He told her. The pack started to bend their heads lower and leave little licks upon her muzzle, some resting their chins along her back, comforting her like a mother comforting her newborn pup. We walked slowly back to the pack house after that, to sleep off the horrors of today.
