Threats and Consequences:
Eduardo Martinez sat in his Mercedes outside the Wellington estate, his hands gripping the steering wheel so hard his knuckles had turned white. The massive gates loomed in front of him like the entrance to hell, and he knew that whatever waited for him inside would be worse than any nightmare.
His daughter had destroyed everything. Twenty-three years of careful planning, of building relationships, of positioning their family in upper circles in the country. And it was gone in a single moment when she decided to play rebel bride.
He took a deep breath and pressed the call button on the intercom.
"Eduardo Martinez to see the Wellington family," he said, trying to keep the desperation out of his voice.
The gates opened for him and he drove in.
