Dangerous Territory:
The mansion's interior was even more intimidating than Scarlett had expected, everything screamed money and power.
Damien led her through a marble hallway that didn't even want to end. Their footsteps echoed in the silence, and Scarlett found herself very aware of how alone they were. No servants and no guards inside. Just her and the insane man.
"Hungry?" he asked without looking back at her.
"No." The lie came out automatically. She hadn't eaten since morning, but accepting food from him felt like accepting his control.
"Liar." He stopped in front of a set of double doors and turned to face her. "You've been running on adrenaline for hours. Your body is starting to crash, and you're going to need energy for what comes next."
