"We're going out tonight," Damien announced over breakfast the next morning, not looking up from his phone as he scrolled through what looked like his business emails.
Scarlett nearly choked on her coffee. "Out? Like, outside the gates?"
"There's a charity gala tonight. One of those fancy events where rich people pretend to care about poor people while writing checks to make themselves feel better and news to carry." His smile was sharp. "I think it's time you made your public debut as my woman."
