Chapter 9:
Richard and Margaret Ashworth sat in the reception area of Sterling Industries' executive floor, both of them looking like they'd rather be anywhere else in the world. The marble and glass surroundings were intimidating enough, but knowing they were about to face Adrian Sterling himself had them both on edge.
"Remember what we discussed," Richard whispered to his wife. "We apologize, we explain that it was just meant to scare the girl, and we promise it won't happen again."
"I still think this is humiliating," Margaret replied through gritted teeth. "We shouldn't have to grovel to anyone, especially over some nobody fighter."
"That nobody fighter apparently means something to Adrian Sterling. And that makes her more dangerous than anyone in our family."
