Chapter 39

Cam’s Point of View:

I am walking back to our classroom because I still have to train with our team. Macy and the team were waiting for me. I told them through private message that I am on my way back to the room. I am glad that they are being patient. I am already twenty or thirty minutes late? I am not sure though.

Margaux have a scene again. She confronted me about the photo posted by Hymitch circulating the SoLife that is why I am late. If she thinks she could get something from me, she is wrong. I am not oblige to explain everything to her. They are not in relationship after all and if they are, I am not responsible for the explanation. I am not the one who cropped the photo and uploaded it. Not that I am going to pass all the blame on Hymitch but she should have the most responsibility on the picture for uploading it.

I know that Matgaux is into Nicolai but that does not give him the permission to do anything to a person who is close to him, to do that to me. She should thank me because I am letting her do that to me. If my friends, the three witches would know this, they will probably laughed at me all they long. They knew from the start that I, Camelle Arabella Montidalgo cannot swayed by anyone may it be a royalty or president’s daughter or son.

I am thinking, if Nicolai is into her as well, why he does not make a move? If the case was what once I have heard that they have been dating for two years. Is he going to wait for the time where he will lose a grip on Margaux’? He is an intelligent kind of person and I know that he would not make a move that he will regret in the end. For a week that I have observed him, I know that he is a radical and critical thinker.

Another thing is, if he meant that they are the end game, why does their relationship remained as is? Are there two feelings or the one that shows transparency to the person she loves remained unrequired? That was just a speculations but that was based on my observations and data gathered through people around us. I am not the one who really want to dig what thing they have but information made their way to come to me. I am just being a good person, embracing the information that willingly comes to my place.

“I am sorry I just arrived.” I said to Macy and his group when I entered the room. He smiled at me and said “it’s okay.”

I put my things aside and ready myself. I’ve been practicing this on the hallway of our house with my younger sibling so I am confident this time.

I went to the corner of the room. I manage to straighten my back, put my breast out, stomache in and chin up. I started to walk, swaying my hips naturally. When I got at the center, I did the transition. I turned around, from a smiling face to a fierce one and continue the walk. I heard several claps from my classmates. Macy stood up while clapping his hands and looking proud.

“That’s my girl! You are not just a pretty face but have the talent and skill. You are indeed a Montidalgo, Cam. I salute you for a first timer.” He said. After that, we are now discussing for my talent. We only have three days left before the pageant and I still have a lot to memorize especially my performances in Glee Club.

“I have heard you sing and saw you dance. And you are pretty good. Would you like to have that as your talent?” Macy asked. He is also aware of my hectic schedule and he is helping me to catch up the talent.

I think of it multiple times since last night. Yes, Macy is right, they have heard me sing and saw me dance. I think that would cross their minds and expect me to do the same thing on my talent. Arcillana is the only place that amaze me everyday and I think it is not just fair if I am the only one who could feel it. That is why I have come to a decision that would make them surprise as well just like how this island surprised me.

“I will work for the talent. Just watch it at the pageant’s night.” I said and winked before leaving them. I have already a concept in mind. I just need to practice it even just for a day. I did it already in my former school during the Arts Week and won as first placer. But today, I will just going to Add some more.

Time passes by and it is already three o’clock in the afternoon. We are in front of the huge mirror that dancers used whenever they practice their performances. Dancers practices in front of the mirrors for some purposes. The use of mirror provides immediate feedback. It helps them compare their movements and track their mistakes such as proper execution and correct placement whether they maximize the place or not. Practicing in front of the mirror helps a dancer to maintain his or her movements right and on beat. This actually helped me becoming an excellent dancer. I am not bragging but I am telling the truth. I am an excellent dancer that moves smoothly. My body swayed naturally. I could easily get a dance moves and execute it properly.

One thing that I am proud of myself is having the self confidence that most of people at my age lacks. I believe that everything you have done comes with a confidence therefore, I told my self not to lose a single of it because that is one of my weapons and I think it is effective. Not having a self confidence sometimes lead to a serious problem such as insecurities and depression. I do not want to be depress or that kind of person who are full of insecurities in life. Once you will have it, you will never entertain negativity that is trying to pull you down from reaching the peak of your success. You will live your life free from what ifs and regrets because there are things and decisions in life where confidence becomes a factor, a pillar of able to do it or not.

If you are going to ask me how to achieve the confidence needed, I would just have to say, understand yourself, appreciate yourself and embrace the flaws you have. If you don’t embrace it, you will never pass the standard of yourself and you will doubt yourself as well.

So, understand, appreciate, and embrace yourself before being drowned.
