Chapter 2

Cam's Point of View: "Can't they just come here, babe?" Hanna asked as she take a sip of her Latte Macchiato. She is one of my best girlfriends. And we used to call each other babe, that's our endearment. We are currently in a cafe near the academy. I am processing my papers for my transfer of school. I didn't know what kind of school I am going to transfer to because we haven't talked about it yet. I don't know if it's in private or public. But I am hoping that it should have at least some kind of accommodating facilities. "They can't babe. Dad told me that the island is too far from the city. My grandparents couldn't manage to have a long ride anymore. You know, oldies." I explained before sipping my Cappuccino Italiano. I can see the sadness in her eyes. I told her and others that we are leaving. Not for good but our absence will take two years. "Anyway, where are the two witches?" I suddenly asked when I realized that we've been waiting here for almost thirty minutes. "Speaking of the witches, here they come wearing their b***h faces," Hanna said with a soft partly suppressed laughter. "Hello, there babieeeees!!" I automatically turned my head where that irritating voice is coming from. Geez she's too loud! Well, what would I expect from her? Aside from being loud, she oftentimes mediates positive energy around her and that could easily adapt by anyone around her. She's fun to be with though. "Sorry, we are a Lil bit late..." She pursed her lips while looking at me and paused intentionally as if waiting for my intervention. I just rolled my eyes. She knows me well. "30 minutes is a 'bit' nowadays." I commented sarcastically emphasizing the word "bit". "I think she has her definition of "bit" babe," Maxyne hypothesized. She pulled one of the vacant chairs at our table and occupied it. Agatha did the same. I can sense that something happened that is why the two witches are smiling from ear to ear. What could it be? "Well, going back... We are late because we dealt with some disgusting cockroaches somewhere." Agatha explained. She's acting disgusted. What an actress! She should audition for a role, I will bet everything I had that she will bloom in showbiz. She has the looks, the brain, and the talent. She had it all. "You mean, Gelian and her friends?" I clarified. Gelian is one of our schoolmates. She did something intolerable on Maxyne and I think the two get back on the poor girl. I just found it unfair because they haven't invited us. I love to see Gelian's face after whatever they did to her. "Who else could it be?" Agatha replied while breaking out a peal of laughter. "Yes babe, it's her, the two-faced ugly witch," Maxyne confirmed while gritting her teeth. "We just gave her a lesson. Sorry, we haven't informed you right away, it happen unplanned. She dares to steal my man huh. After the good things, I've done for her. After I helped her be the captain of the Academy's cheerleading team. What a shameless biatch." She continued. Before they forgot to order, I called the waiter and ordered their favorites. We are regular customers here and staff already knew our usual orders. Maxyne is the daughter of the owner of the academy where we all enrolled. And our parents, Hanna, Agatha, and mine were also shareholders. I can say we are famous. We are the top students in the hall of fame. We are called sassy girls. No one dares to lay a finger on us or even cross our path, just Gelian the two-faced-ugly-witch. But just like expected, she will never win against the sassy girls. Hanna, Agatha, Maxyne, and I are best buddies since first year high school. Our bond is one of a kind because we are like sisters to each other. That is why I am very upset that I am going to leave them soon for two years. "What exactly did you do?" Hanna asked out of curiosity. Good thing she asked that question because I am curious too. I know the capability of Maxyne and I am sorry for Gelian if she pushed Max to her limits. "Na-uh, just minor.. we hung them in a tree at the back part of the academy," Maxyne replied. She couldn't help herself and bursted into laughter. After hearing what Maxyne said, we all laughed like there is no tomorrow. Seems like Maxyne told us a hysterical joke for us to laughed that hard. I tried to imagine Gelian's face being hung up. That was freakin' hilarious! I bet students had a satisfying viewpoint. Ever since Gelian became the captain of the cheerleading team, she became needy of attention and acts like a queen bee. Well, I wouldn't raise any argument on that because she indeed looks like an insect with a black and yellow coloration. I am not being harsh, I am just telling the truth. And truth hurts, sometimes. Maxyne is a very good friend but she is also a worse enemy. She does whatever she wants to without hesitation so better not to mess up with this beautiful witch. "Anyway, we are here because you are going to say goodbye, babe?" Agatha changed the topic after that laugh trip juncture subsided. I nearly forgot what's the main reason why we are all gathered here today. "Yes, and we are leaving tomorrow. I will be back after two long years." I replied. The atmosphere suddenly feels melancholic. The three looked despondent at the moment. Who would not be? I tried to open my mouth to cheer them up but I couldn't. I am out of words. And an atmosphere of defeaning silence prevails.
