Chapter 20

Cam’s Point of View:

"Gosh Caaaam!" Mitch giggled. She's rushing towards me when I get down of the stage. "I did not know you have this golden voice plus you are a great dancer! Owemji owemji you are not just gorgeous but also talented. How to be you?" She continued while shaking my both arms.

Since I am the only one who performed, the students were instructed by the great president to return on their perspective classes, if there is none, they can continue making plans for the foundation day.

"Nuh. I was born Montidalgo and being talented runs to our blood." I said and wink at her. I am here again, bragging our family name. They are used on it already. I am always bringing up my family name because I am proud to be one.

"We have to be in the student council office. The President will present the needs of our every organizations. After finalizing the program, we will do the marketing." Viper interrupted. "By the way, you did great." She said after averting her gaze at me.

"I know because I am always great." I said and laughed. She just shook her head so I laughed even more.

My first impression of Viper is not really good. The way she looked at me that night, I really doesn’t like it. But she’s a good person. She might be cold and have this intimidating aura but deep inside her, I know she cared especially to her friends. I can see Agatha in her. Our first encounter is not good but we ended up having a genuine friendship. Agatha is just a loud and very vocal kind of person.

"I am just going to change. Wait for me!" I said and waved. I run to the comfort room of the Glee Club Room and changed my clothes. I wore a shining black stretchable short that looks like a cycling short. I wore a spaghetti strap top that filled with silver glitters. I love it because it fitted my body well. It shows my curve and suit to be a costume in my performance because the dance steps projects postures and it shows the execution clearly. And I wore my black boots to complete my look.

Today is Wednesday and everyone is showcasing their fashion styles because we are free to wear anything excluding short and other too revealing outfits.

Of course! I would not let myself be last person to be appreciated when it comes in fashion. I wore my favorite pair of clothes. I really brought this because this is one of my favorites. I am wearing an old rose A line Dior skirt and white Dior sleeveless crop fitted top. I paired it with an old rose Dior blazer. And for my footwear, I used white pointed Chanel heels and a white shoulder bag. I also put my lip stick on.

I fixed everything before I returned to where they are. I just left my clothes there and said that I am just going to pick it later.

When I got back, the place is already clear. There are only few students left, the other glee club members as well as Mitch and company.

“You look great!” Thelonious commented. I just gave him a wink. That is already enough to play his tricks.

We all headed to the council office. There are already students there waiting for us. We lead ourselves to our designated seats.

The council president opened the meeting formally and told the secretary to read the minutes of the meeting. The secretary stood and walk in the front. She then read what we have discussed last meeting before we moved on to continue the program and think of other activities.

“We should invite guests and let them perform.” One of the grade level representative suggested.

“I agree. It would be very entertaining and exciting.” Another grade level representative seconded.

Their suggestion makes sense especially that most of the audiences are at our age. We always look for fun and we hate boredom.

“Then we should think of someone or group of people that we can invite to perform perhaps.” One of the officers suggested. I looked at her with a smile plastered on my face. I have a brilliant idea!

I raised my right hand to share my idea. The student council president acknowledged me and gave me time to speak.

“I think we can invite my brother, Vonn Andrew Montidalgo. If you did not know him, he works as an artist. He is multi talented and pretty smart.” I suddenly here an excitement to the whole room. I laughed when I saw Mitch’s reaction. She said that she is a big fan of my brother and she wants to be at least friend of my brother. I told her that I will tell my brother about it. I also told her that I will give her one of my brother’s favorite shirt and have it signatured but I could not give it to her in an instant because my brother have an imporatant meeting again. He seems busy this past few days. I thought he is not ready for the responsibilities yet and wants to enjoy his career first.

I am actually worried. I think they are working too hard. My parents woke up at dawn just this day and drove to the Capitol. The techno lab has an emergency so they have to stood despite being still sleepy. My brother and my grandparents did not have their breakfast with us. They said, the Capitol needs them and it is urgent. So, I ended up eating with the twins again who are busy blaming each other for I don’t know what reason is.

“Yes pleaseee. Everyone in the campus would love that!” Mitch said.

“Wouldn’t it cause stampeede?” Another girl said while chuckling. Is my brother that famous here?

“We will cater the audience well. We can create protocols so we can control the crowd.” Another officer suggested.

The president asked us who is in favor with the suggestion of inviting my brother and I can see perfect number of student officer raising their right hands.

I listed it on my notes. I am sure Nicolai would require me again of a report about the meeting and I should be ready myself of it.

The meeting goes on and we still discuss a lot of concern. In every suggestion, in every scenario, we are giving pros and cons to anticipate what will going to happen in a particular scenario. And think of what is most likely to be the response or remedy.

One of the agreed activities is the Mr. and Miss Arcillana. It’s been the institution’s tradition to have this kind of pageant and it is one of the most awaited part in the celebration of University of Arcillana’s Foundation Day.

“So here are the summary of the materials needed of every organization and we will divide the house into five members and assign what to buy.” The president said and flashed the details on the board.

Mitch, Viper, Alliah, Margaux and I are in one group. I turned to the girl that I will be with to buy things needed of every organization. This b***h. I haven’t forget yet what she have done to me.

The University of Arcillana has it’s own school bus. They sent us to the mall so we could start purchasing that is on our list and finish it early than expected. Everyone picked up things they see that we need.

Viper and Mitch pushes the cart while Alliah and I were the one who picked up the items needed. Meanwhile, our another member, she is not here. She is gone. She followed her friends. That is better though.

We have not finish yet when Viper called for a lunch. We paid for what we have picked and we will just continue later after lunch. They already identified a place where we will have our lunch.

We left our pieces of baggage first in the counter and headed to the third floor. We are heading to the same restaurant were me and my family have eaten our dinner.

Since we are many, I think we occupied the whole restaurant.

“How’s your marketing?” Hytham asked us. We are in the same table, him, Thelonious, Hymitch, Alliah, Nicolai, Viper and I. While others looked for they table as well.

“We still have items need to purchase but it is not that many.” Alliah replied.

After a couple of minutes, our lunch has been served. Everyone seems hungry because we ate in peace. The food is really delicious and you will never get tired of craving foods here. Chef Rissa is indeed a great chef no wonder she is popular and most requested Chef to judge in an international cooking contest.

The time passes by. It seems just earlier but right now, we are already going back to the campus. Everything we purchased were inside the bus already. It is already five in the afternoon yet we still have to sort everything according to what the organizations were needing so it will be distributed tomorrow.

I called our driver and instructed to fetch the twins. I also told him to tell my parents or anyone in the house that I will be going home late because we are going to have overtime in the student council.

The items that we purchased were directed to the gymnasium. We will sort the items there because it won’t fit in the office. There are items that were huge and could consume much space.

Everyone is working as per the command of the student council president. There is a unity and I salute him that he was able to unite these students that have diverse personalities. Whenever you feel his presence, whenever he opens his mouth, whenever you met his gaze, everyone behaved accordingly. It seems he himself is the rule need to be followed.

“Don’t forget to wear PE uniform tomorrow.” Alliah reminded. We are now done setting the items per organizations and it is ready to distribute already.

“Bye!” She said and waved her right hand. The other girls also bid their goodbyes and went to their chauffer.

I checked my watch and it is already seven in the evening. Cars were passing by, they are now going home. I am wondering if there are any taxis in here or should I just call at home? Maybe that is the right thing to do. Having Montidalgo as a family name does not guarantee my safety. Our grandparents might be respected in this island but I could not just ignore the possibilities that there are someone that could have something ill plans against them. And using me or any one of us is one of the great plans they could have.

I shook my head to push that thoughts away. I am overthinking. I should not think that way.

I was about to call at home to let someone fetch me here when I heard a beep. A car stopped in front of me. It is a combination of black and white Ferrari FXX-K! The car’s door in the driver’s side opened and someone went out.

“Where is your driver?” I didn’t expected that Nicolai is the owner of this Ferrari FXX-K because he used a different car yesterday!

“I let him fetch the twins and send them home.” I replied.

“Is he coming back to fetch you?” He asked again.

“I am about to call him when you beeped on me.” I replied.

“Don’t bother. You can ride with me.” He said that makes me taken aback a lil bit.

“No need I can call at home.” I refused. But he went to the other side the car and opened it up.

“Arcillana might be a peaceful place in daylight but there’s a lot of hyenas ready to attack their prey when the night comes.” He said meaningfully that gives me a goose bumps. I know he is not being literal but it is still alarming.

“Thanks.” I said after he put the seat belt on. I simply looked at the window.
