Chapter 41

Cam’s Point of View:

Everyone was shocked at my grandfather's greetings. They are all in a long rectangular table in the backyard of the house. My grandparents, my parents and my siblings. The table was full of different menus that makes me hungry.

"Good evening Milord and the rest of the Montidalgo family.I know I am handsome but Camelle and I," Macy said in a manly voice. Everyone were looking at him and our classmates were obviously stopping themselves from laughing especially Hymitch. I also want to laugh but I stopped myself. Macy's voice is indeed feminine, very soft and modulated but I once heard him saying in a manly voice. "are at the same page." He said in a soft and feminine voice that made my family widen their eyes and laughed in the end. I just saw my grandparents laughed that hard and I would like to thank Macy for that. This past few days, they are stress because of an unexpected happenings.

Macy paused for a while as if he was thinking if would he will tell my family his name. He hates it whenever someone calls him that and now, I think he will be the one to say his name, Macario.

"He is MACARIO SICORICO, everyone." All of us diverted our attention to Jan, Macy's best friend. Just like Macy, he is also a gay. They are best of friends but they are always clashing. "And girl, the aforementioned names were COSTILLANA, SAMANIEGO, and BUENAVENTURA baks! There is no SICORICO mentioned." Jan added while emphasizing each surnames mentioned by my grandfather.

Macy just rolled his eyes over his best friend that made me laughed and others.

"By the way Sir, I am Jan Rivera. It is an honor to be with you tonight." He said and bowed his head. Before he could open his mouth again, Macy interrupted.

"Jan, short term for JUANITO.." He said that made us laughed again. These two are fun to be with. Having them will make you laugh each day. Four of our female classmates also introduced themselves.

“The two of you were funny. And the four of you were beautiful. Have a seat and enjoy the food.” My grandfather said. He really laughed hard as well as others. Each of us pulled a chair for us to be able to sit.

We started to have our food. There’s a lot of dishes on the table and more on seafoods like shells, lobsters, crabs and big fishes. They mentioned before that Arcillana is not only rich in gold but as well as in natural resources, well, one of these is the underwater living organisms.

I love seafoods ever since I was a kid. These dishes that were on the table were my childhood favorites.

I put a big crab on my plate and use my both hands to open and eat it. This crab is fat, not skinny. This is what I exactly want. According to my parents, the island have an organization that secures the cleanliness of the sea water. There are patrols that patrolling the vicinity of the island in the water. While being on board, you will see there how beautiful creatures of water are. Coral reefs in different colors are visible and fishes were swimming on the sea freely. The governing body of the island values the source of abundance of the island because they believed, if it was not because of the island, they can’t eat fresh and clean seafoods. The ocean nowadays were invaded by different kinds of waste materials from different places.

“I chose to cook these all because these are my baby girl’s favorite.” Mom said, opening a conversation. “Look at her,” mom added that made me stop from eating and face them all who are now looking at me. I was stunned for a second with the leg of the crab on my mouth. On my left hand, I am holding the crab’s body. I was about to split it up so I could eat it when mom mention me. “...that’s how she eats this kind of food. She won’t mind the people around her as long as she’s eating it.” Mom added and chuckled.

“She is always a mess when she eats a crab.” Suddenly, my brother inserted. I think he is going to close his mouth like forever. I am thinking if what he have on his mind or he have a problem because it is very unusual of him. Usually, he would welcome them with a smile on his face as if he is endorsing a toothpaste brand. But earlier, he also smiled but it was not his natural smile.

“Why are you talking about me? You can talk of any topic instead me. Am I that gorgeous to be the center of the discussion?” I asked. I have noticed that they are not having any other topics aside from me or topic that involves me.

“Oh yeah, before I forgot. Thank you guys for being here tonight. I requested this dinner because I would like to thank you for accepting my daughter in here and able to embrace her whether she grew up from outside of the island. I have heard that you are helping my daughter for the preparation in the pageant night. And I would also love to thank you for being patient to her. I know she have this ideal beauty in pageantry as well as her body figure but believe me when I say, she is hard to teach sometimes like this kind of thing.” My mother said while my friends and classmates are attentively listening to my mother. That does not end there despite I told them that they should shift a topic in the conversation. My mother continue to tell a story while we were eating. Sometimes, my brother is butting in as well as the twins especially when it comes to stories that made me feel embarrass.

After my mother told them some of my stories, she asked for a dessert to the maids that are standing in one side.

“So, you have not answered my question earlier. Who among you the boyfriend of my granddaughter?” My grandfather said but no one answered because there is none. Well, that was I thought of and did not expected what I want to hear. But what I heard next makes my heart beat faster that it’s normal heartbeat.

“I think none Sir. But if there’s any vacancies in her heart, why not give it a try to apply?” Nicolai said.
