The agent's words didn't rattle Colton in the slightest.
He tried calling me again and couldn't get through.
He froze for a second, then actually laughed and turned to the agent. "She's still mad at me? Get her to call me back, and I'll straighten this out. Whatever she's paying you to put on this act, I'll cover it. Just get her on the phone, or you're not seeing a cent from me."
The agent frowned at that and repeated himself, "I need you to leave. Ms. Sinclair has already sold this place."
He held out the signed authorization letter for Colton to see. The sight of it sent a jolt through Colton's chest.
He read the paper carefully, then arched an eyebrow, watching the agent's face. "Don't try to con me with this thing."
Colton tore it to shreds without hesitation.
