Twenty minutes later, Melena slowed down because something didn't feel right. She stopped in the middle of the trail and looked around. Tall trees surrounded her on every side, and they all seemed to look exactly the same. She turned around and studied the path behind her before looking back at her map. Okay… She stared at the map, then at the trees again. She was almost certain she'd seen the crooked branch sticking out from one of the trunks before, but when she walked back a few steps, she wasn't so sure anymore. No. Maybe not that one. She looked farther down the trail and sighed. f**k. Melena pulled out her phone and checked for a signal. There was nothing. Of course there's no f*****g signal. She raised the phone above her head anyway, as if the trees might suddenly feel sorr
