Chapter 2

Rita's Pov

"Thank you Mr T. I will be heading inside now", l finally got home.

I got out of the car and l was about to enter when one of the domestic staff rushed to me to help me with my bag.

"No Dorathy, there is no need for this. I would take it to myself", l stopped her from assisting me with my office bag.

"Is my love around?", l questioned her.

"No ma, he has not returned home since yesterday", She gave a reply.

I was surprised but it just means he is very occupied in his office busy with work.

Surprisingly l saw a man sitting on my couch.

I did not know who it was initially because the person had his back turned to me.

"I was about to tell you about it ma", Dorathy got to know that l noticed someone in my living room.

"Who is that?", l was very curious to know.

"That is your lawyer ma. He has been waiting for you ma for quite some time" " she said to me.

"Oh really", l handed over my bag to Dorathy and she took it inside already.

I went towards him immediately.

"Lawyer Francis, l was not expecting you today. I hope everything is good by the way?" I was very much astonished to see it.

He stood up immediately as he did not know that l was even around.

I could see him with papers but l assumed it was my husband's documents that were with him.

"I'm doing well ma", He greeted me back but l just knew that something was fishy.

Lawyer Francis is the jovial type l can only wonder what must be going on.

"Lawyer Francis, is there any problem at all?", l asked him.

I was really worried.

Lawyer Francis looked down and he could not look at me.

"Talk to me the Law. Is there any problem?", l shouted at him.

I grabbed his two hands and tears almost ran down my chest thinking something was wrong with my husband.

Lawyer Francis gently took the documents he placed on the table and handed them over to me.

I released him immediately and l collected the document from him hurriedly.

"What is this?", l inquired as l quickly opened.

The first thing l saw when l opened the document was a divorce paper boldly written as the title of the document.

For a few seconds, it felt like l was going insane because l never saw this coming.

"I did not know how to put it to you a few months ago when l saw his picture with a lady" " the lawyer said to me.

I sat down on the floor immediately helplessly.

I hit my ass so hard on the floor.

"Please get a hold of yourself. The deed is done. We just need to look for a solution now that is just the way out. He signed the document already and asked me to urge you to sign yours immediately" " the lawyer spoke to me.

I remained on the floor looking so helpless.

The lawyer brought out his phone and showed me a video of Steven and a lady who looked so familiar.

It happened to be their s*x video.

I was almost paralyzed when l saw it.

"What have l not done for Francis? I built this boy with my own little money. I have his connection, l gave him food to eat including his family and is this how he would repay me?", l began to question everything l have done.

"This is not the time to down. You have to be strong" " my lawyer mentioned.

I took the divorce paper which Steven had signed already and l went into my room without saying anything at all.

I got to the room, locked the door while l was sweating so profusely and l began to cry bitterly.

I was not only pained that Steven cheated on me all this while but it turned out to be the guest speaker who l had conversations with before coming home that was the lady he was having affairs with.

In no time after l cried out all l wanted l took up my pen and l signed the divorce paper with my body filled with revenge.

"I am done with you Steven and there is nothing that can bring us today. But one thing l am sure of is that you would regret this action of yours", l uttered with so much assurance.

I got up and went to dress up and l went out with the document in my hand so l can give it back to my lawyer.

Before l came out from my room my lawyer had gone so l had to put a call across to him so he meet me at a place so l could hand it over to him back.

I was on my way out when Dorathy stopped me.

"Madam", She called on me.

"Hey Dorathy, please help me arrange my room when I get back", l requested that she help me with the room.

I did not give her a chance to respond at all.

I finally got to meet my lawyer.

"This is the divorce paper. I have signed it", l told her.

"Ma...ma", He was stammering because he did not just see it coming.

Expect to hear something from me soon. I would be leaving now", l informed him.

I left him but l did not know where exactly l wanted to go because l was so sure that l would not be going back home for now.

"That is true", A place dropped in my mind to go.

I have decided to go to one of the places that Steven has restricted me from visiting over the five years that we have met.

"I am going to the club", l said to myself.

I went back to my SUV car and l drove off one a popular club where the noblemenen would always go to.

It has always felt like a bondage because that cr*zy man does not allow me to go anywhere so l would not be able to suspect anything about him at all.
