Road Trip

“Are you trying to say I eat a lot?” Sam asked looking at Chance like he was dumb. Most guys should know not to tell a lady that they eat a lot. She ate breakfast and it wasn’t even ten yet. “Katrina lives just on the other side of Kansas City. That’s a five hour drive or more depending on how you dive. Do you have a led foot or do you drive Ms. Daisy?” Chance answered with a small smile. Sam just glared at him as she pulled into the gas station that she was about to pass. “Your an ass and because of that you get to buy my snacks.” Sam said as she put the car in park. She quickly got out and shut the door before he could say anything. She was going to make him pay for being a smart ass literary. By the time he caught up to her she had both hands and arms full of junk food. She smiled and handed half of it to him and picked up another hand full. By the time they left she had made chance pay for six bags of junk food and soda. As they walked out the door Sam spotted Conner standing by his expensive Audi that his parents bought him to show off. “Why are you here? Are you following me?” Sam asked putting the few bags she had made Chance let her carry into the back seat of her dads car. Her dads car sitting next to Conner’s looked old and out dated. “No but I know what hes trying to do and I won’t let him take my promised mate. You think I’ve been training you for nothing all this time, no I want you to be obedient or you know what will happen. You will not get in that car with him. You will come back to your house with me now.” Conner said looking more smug then Sam had ever seen him look. “So you call torching me and treating me like trash training me? You have lost your mind. I will go where I want, with who I want, when I want, and because I want to.” Sam answered looking at Conner like he had lost his mind completely. He should know by now she was more stubborn than that. She didn’t care if he beat her for the rest of her life she had free will and she would use it. Conner just smiled like he knew something she didn’t. “We’re leaving and don’t follow us. I was promised some time and you can’t change that your not alpha yet.” Sam said getting in her car and slamming the door shut. Chance followed shortly with the rest of her junk food in his hands. “I want to kill him even if I don’t fully understand what he means by trained.” Chance said as he opened a Dr. Pepper and handed it to Sam. “Don’t worry he just made my choice for me even though I was gonna make it anyways. Now we just need to try to break this curse for my family.” Sam said as she pulled out of the gas station. No way in hell was she going to be someones pet. She was a proud wolf not a scared dog and she would never allow herself to be treated that way. “So just to clarify you choice me………..right?” Chance asked Sam after two hours of listening to music. He leaned over and batted his eyelashes at Sam trying to be cute. “No, I just don’t and won’t ever chose him. How ever I will give you the chance you asked for after the curse is broken.” Sam said pushing him off. This was going to be a long trip. She new he wasn’t going to give up. She wasn’t the only one who felt the pull. Why did all this have to fall on her why couldn’t her parents have more kids. “and if she refuses? I can’t control her and that’s not completely fair. I mean I’m wiling to try until the day I cant any more if that day ever comes but that’s a long time to wait for you to be in my life the way I want you to be.” Chance replied how could she deny him the joy of holding her, kissing her, making love to her, and having little Sam’s running around. He needed her like he needed to drink blood without her he was sure he would die. “So you want me to promise you something I don’t know that I can do?” Sam asked getting frustrated with him. How could he expect her just to give up. This was her family her people. She had to help them. “Well not exactly but I do want you to put a time on it. Like say we can’t get it done in the week that mom gave us we won’t give up we will still keep trying but at the same time you’ll give me the time I want to prove to you that we can work together. That even though I haven’t said it I already know i am in love with you.” Chance answered staring at her as she drove. Sam didn’t know how to reply she didn’t think she was ready to say it just yet. Yes she felt it but she just for some reason couldn’t say it yet. “I don’t want to offend you but I’m just not ready to say it yet. I know I feel it and you know I feel it. It’s just not the right time for me.” Sam almost whispered back. “It’s okay I can wait but I won’t wait forever babe.” He said as he smiled and leaned over to kiss her on her check. She wanted so badly to turn and kiss him but if she did that she would crash the car. Maybe when they got to the hotel she would give in. She knew in her heart that she wouldn’t be able to live without him. She was growing tired of fighting these feelings. “Turn left here.” Chance said pointing to a dirt road that wasn’t on the GPS. Sam followed his directions to an old country style house. It was beautiful with its white exterior with sunflower yellow shutters. It had a wrap around porch with a giant porch swing. Plants all around the porch. Herbs was Sam’s guess. Probably for spells but it still didn’t take from the beauty of the place. “Please let me talk first. Ill explain whats going on and then you can ask her for help. She’s big on respect for be careful how you word the things you say and I will protect you so don’t worry about that you are safe.” Chance said before he climbed out of his side of the car. Sam was a little slower to climb out of the car. She kept looking around the woods that surrounded the house. She felt like someone was watching them but she couldn’t see anyone.
