**Chapter 6: Irene and the Noble Lady**
Irene's pastry store has become the heart of the village, and each day continues to run at a hectic pace. Since Duke Castiel's inspection, her pastries have not only won the hearts of the villagers, but have also attracted many visitors from neighboring villages. Her skill and creativity have managed to transform the tiny store into the village's favorite spot.
Every morning, village residents line up in front of Irene's store, waiting for her freshly baked pastries. Outside the store, a sweet aroma always filled the air, and the tantalizing smell made it irresistible to those passing by. Irene prepares each early morning with great care, making sure that each pastry is filled with delicate and unique flavors. Her efforts have not been in vain, and the villagers have become more and more appreciative of her, praising her pastries for being not only delicious, but also creative and artistic.
Not just content with traditional pastry making, Erin continues to explore and introduce new ingredients and methods of preparation, bringing the village a culinary experience like no other. She introduced fruits and spices not commonly found in the otherworld, such as licorice preserves and exotic nuts, as well as a unique flour blend she invented herself, all of which added to the exotic flavor of her pastries.
These new foods quickly won over the villagers. Especially during village festivals, Irene always prepares her innovative pastries. For example, her “Star Pie” is a star-shaped dough wrapped in fresh fruit sauce and covered with a lightly sweetened icing that resembles the twinkling of stars in the night sky. Whenever she appeared at the festival stalls with these unique pastries, she always attracted hordes of villagers to watch and taste them.
The atmosphere of the village also became more and more enthusiastic due to Irene's arrival. At festival time, Irene's pastries became a must-have for every celebration, and with her clever decorations and creative flavors, she turned every festival into a feast for the eyes and the palate. The villagers grew to respect her as more than just a pastry chef, but as part of the village culture.
One evening, Irene was tidying up the store in preparation for the upcoming evening traffic. The sun was sinking in the west, and the golden afterglow on her store gave her a warm and peaceful feeling. However, Irene's heart was not as calm as her exterior. She knew that Duke Castiel would visit again at some point, and she was filled with unease and anticipation for the meeting.
Just as she was busily organizing her desktop, the doorbell rang softly and a young woman dressed in gorgeous clothes walked in. Her face held a hint of imperceptible grace and composure, and there was a glint of excitement in her eyes. Ayrin looked up and realized that the woman was none other than a young lady from a noble family in the village. There was a special guest in Ayrin's store - a noble lady from a prominent family, Miss Lowell. She was dressed in an exquisite blue satin dress with detailed silver embroidery, and the jewels set on her head shone brightly, showing her noble status. Her arrival caused a low murmur among the store's customers, all of whom were curious about this uninvited guest.
Erin stood behind the counter and greeted Miss Lowell with a smile. She noticed Ms. Lowell's eyes resting on the freshly baked chocolate mousse on the side, with a strong interest in her eyes. Erin said gently, “Welcome, the chocolate mousse in our store has just come out of the oven, would you like to try it?”
Miss Lowell's eyes lit up and she gently nodded, a hint of elegant shyness in her voice, “One for me, please.” She took the dessert handed over by Ayrin and gently savored a bite, the expression on her face then became pleasant, “This is so delicious, I've never tasted such an exquisite pastry.”
Seeing Miss Lowell's satisfied expression, Ayrin couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief in her heart. She realized that this noble lady's appreciation would have a positive impact on her store. However, Miss Lowell's arrival seemed to be more than just to taste the pastries. She elegantly raised her head and smiled at Ayrin, “I've heard that you are the most outstanding pastry chef in this village. I have some personal matters that I would like to ask for your help. Perhaps, we can find some time to talk.”
Erin froze slightly, her heart filled with doubt and anticipation. Before she had a chance to ask for specifics, Miss Lowell had already turned around and gracefully left the store. Erin couldn't help but wonder what kind of needs she had and why she was chosen.
A few days later, Irene received an invitation from Miss Lowell. She traveled to the manor where the noble lady was staying. The manor was magnificent, and the gardens were full of flowers, as if she had entered a dreamlike world. Eileen's heart was filled with nervousness and anticipation, she knew that today's meeting would change her fate.
In one of the manor's magnificent parlors, Miss Lowell sat on a beautifully carved chair and greeted Erin with a smile. She looked radiant, with a certain mysterious gleam in her eyes. She gestured for Ayrin to sit down and then said, ''Ayrin, I have recently heard that your pastry store in the village is doing very successfully, and I greatly appreciate your talent. In fact, I have something I would like to ask for your help.”
Erin nervously asked, “Miss Lowell, please speak, I'll try my best to help.”
Miss Lowell's eyes revealed a hint of complex emotions as she continued, “My family's banquet is about to be held, and I would like you to prepare some special pastries for us. This banquet is very important to our family, and I believe your pastries can add a lot of color to the banquet.”
Aileen's mind breathed a sigh of relief, yet she also realized that this mission would bring her more challenges. She nodded, indicating that she was willing to accept the assignment.
“Thank you, Erin. I know you'll do a great job.” Miss Lowell said gently, “And, I have a little secret to tell you.” Her voice became low and mysterious, “I've always been very interested in your desserts, and I'd like to know more about the story behind you.”
Erin felt a twinge of unease, would her modern craft be revealed? She had to be careful to make sure her secret wasn't revealed. She took a deep breath and tried to keep her composure, “Thank you, Ms. Lowell. I will do my best to do a good job on this mission.”
Miss Lowell smiled and nodded before handing Ayrin a detailed menu and banquet arrangements. “This is the requirements and arrangements for the banquet, please read them carefully. I believe that you will be able to bring us a wonderful dessert feast.”
Erin received the menu, her heart filled with anticipation and nervousness. She knew that this was not just a baking mission, but also an opportunity to get in touch with the world of nobles. She had to fully prepare to ensure that her performance would not disappoint Miss Lowell.
As Irene left the manor, the afterglow of the setting sun poured over her, and she was both excited and apprehensive. Her mind drifted to the scene of the upcoming banquet, and her mind was vaguely uneasy. Would her modern craftsmanship be exposed? Would she be able to succeed in her mission? All these questions swirled in her mind, and the answers, would be revealed in the coming days.
As the night wore on, Erin's gaze steadied. She knew that every next step was crucial, and she had to be at her best for the upcoming challenge.
